Playing him at left back has improved his game significantly. He can now cross with his left foot so defenders can’t decide whether he going to the by line or cut inside. IMO he’s far more dangerous as LB and clearly enjoying himself. Like others I suspect the story has a certain amount of bias by the storyteller.
The story teller has no axe to grind with us, other than us selling them Vestergard and giving them Bertrand....!

Cucurella to Chelsea and Colwill to Brighton on loan confirmed. Good work from Brighton that. Gives them a shedload of cash to get a striker in.

We are surely needing to shift a few though first.

Depends on the position I would think. If we want another CB which I kinda hope we do then we'd need to shift one. Might be the same for the 10 position. We still need another striker though and a full back. Whether we can continue to bring players in without raising funds first or at least clearing the wage deck a little remains to be seen.

You could also say that about creative 10 too, I would assume we would have to move on Theo plus one other of Ely/Redder or Djenepo.

You could indeed say that, and I did <laugh> so far we have loaned out Smallbone and bought Aribo and although he was cheap, you'd assume his wages would be higher than Smallbones. In an ideal world we'd shift Walcott and one of Tella, Ely, Redmond or Djenepo. Unless Walcott goes to the US you'd think he will live out the final year of his contract here and take the money as nobody else will come close to offering what he is on. Djenepo is our emergency LB option at the moment unfortunately so has become less likely to shift. Tella could probably do with going on loan and playing regular football. And then you'd think our best chance of actually selling one would be Redmond or Ely who in theory should be worth £5-10m for someone.

One thing is for certain - if we get a striker in who is a) in our price range and b) experienced, then he is going to have been pretty average at one of his recent clubs, and therefore hated by a section of our fan base. Experienced, good and cheap doesn’t exist I think.

Except in Danny Ings’ case of course.

What is our price range? In recent years our budget has been £0 + player sales. So far this summer we have spent £50m+ and not sold anyone.

It remains to be seen how much SR would be willing to sanction on the right player. £20m can still get you talented players from Europe.

Agree 20m gets some talent but i don’t think it’s someone who has been knocking in 10+ goals a season for the last 2-3 years in a decent league. Which is what many set as a minimum requirement. I think if they are 20m, and 25 yrs old, then chances are they will be someone who we think will either work better in our system, or who we can improve, but who will have been short of goals at their last club. Or they’ve been successful in a weaker league…

I have a bit of an inside track on the Che Adams saga, he isn't a fan of Ralph to put it politely especially after playing second fiddle to Broja last season event when he was throwing his toys out the pram and not scoring
He was very irratated by Armstrong being played as a striker instead of him and will almost certainly leave if he doesn't get picked to start tomorrow
KWP is a good friend of Che and also dissent like Ralph for picking Tino ahead of him and being played at LB instead of his preferred RB. He is seriously looking to move to Chelsea
Both have 2 years left on their contracts and have been offered new and improved contracts but they are unlikely to sign. Both hoped Ralph was going to be sacked this summer and aren't looking forward to starting the season with him in charge

Concerning to say the least especially KWP
Have to say this doesn’t surprise me about KWP. Several times last season he looked pretty peeved and tbf in his shoes I’d be mightily hacked off.

I know it’s speculation but with it being said that Adams and KWP not linking Ralph. Isn’t this his last season before he said he would be retiring?

Love the reaction to DL's post as if it's absolute blasphemy lol.

I'm sure if somebody had posted "I know somebody close to KWP and apparently there's no chance of him leaving as he's got a great relationship with Ralph and wants to repay his faith in him" then it'd have been treated as gospel by people on here and repeated ad nauseum in the Ralph debate forever.

I'm almost certain it wouldn't have been down to somebody with a pro Ralph agenda <rofl>

Not to say it's true of course, who knows? It's certainly not completely unbelievable though and I always enjoy these little snippets. It is a football forum after all and specifically on a thread which is almost solely speculation.
