I did not see the The Times report but Phil McNulty was equally dismissive of Saints in his predictions yesterday. He has us fiishing 17th but with the caveat that he does not predict this with much confidence. He is not someone I often agree with and there is also a degree of laviness in what he has predicted. For what it is worth, I think that we will finish above Fulham , Brenford, Brighton,Leicester, Everton and Leeds. Nottingham Forest may well surprise people and I think McNulty has probably been premature in wiritng off Bournemouth too. What I am not so sure about is whether Ralph will still be in charge and i also reckon there will be changes ar Everton,Leeds and perhpas Newcastle if Howe does not achieve the expectations. I think we have more signings to come but the new owners will be hoping for more bang for their buck.

All in all, I am quite happy for Saints to be written off by the pundits who i cannot really agree with unless we fail to sign a decent and proven striker. I would be happy to cash in Adam Armstrong is this was necessary to get a quality name through the door.
Mirror pundit has us finishing 18th, citing our poor end of season form and our buying potential over experience.

A lot is being made about our very poor form at the end of the season. Are there stats out there that suggest that it is highly likely to just carry on? Because many are just taking it for granted. Granted there are probably not many cases where protracted poor runs see the same manager retained into the new season

I think it’s a fair indication and one I would use when predicting a season.
Crystal Palace under Woy constantly caught me out as for a few seasons they would be safe by Feb/March and then the form would drop massively, but yet they would always find a run of form in a season to keep themselves safe, this kind of describes our last two seasons

Conor Coady has asked for a transfer. Not fuarantees forst team football after change in formation and a couple of big money signings at Wolves.

IF Bednarek was to leave, I couldn't think of a better fit to add some immediate leadership, prem experience amd quality in that position that would be within our budget. Always thought he was a tremendous captain

I'd take him all day long. Not sure there wouldn't be better options for him though.

The rumour is that Everton want Coady on loan from Wolves. Why would Wolves loan him? And why to Premier League rival. It doesn't really make sense

Maybe Wolves don't consider Everton a rival. They may see them doomed to certain relegation already :D

The bookies and some pundits have Wolves closer to the scrap than I would assume based on last season. And you'd think sending him to Everton brings them closer together (on odds checker they are next to each other in the relegation odds somehow)
