Well someone should tell the dimwit owner he should really play on grass if he wants to take a dog on. They are faster so will always get the ball. I had a dog as a kid who was the same. Loved chasing round a ball.
Liverpool are expecting bids for Nat Phillips. Fulham are Bournemouth are interested according to reports.
Hope he goes as he deserves regular football and he will not get it with us as he is 5th on the pecking order at best
About time. He went on and sorted out a few strazburg players. Love it. No such thing as a friendly to Phillips. He given played a vvd special pass just for kicks.
He only needs a manager with a bit of faith. I think they all think he'll be skinned for pace but **** sake he's a bit header the ball, decent passer type player who would run through a wall for a manager who would back him
The final few bits of business are now; Van den Berg to be sold or loaned (decent but too slow) Phillips to be sold The squad will look a little trim this season imo. 3 gk 2 rb 2 lb 4 cbs 8 cms, 7 are no 8s. 6 forwards. Not much bar what we have seen in the academy. Bajcetic, mabaye, quansah, Gordon. There's not going to be great cup runs coming imo, we are 1 cm short as we cannot shift ox imo and imo carvalho isn't quite ready so we are probably 1 forward down too. We need to focus on the prem and cl again.
Klopp has his 4. Clearly he's never picking Phillips when he tried every ****ing midfielder before the lad. Phillips proved him wrong thankfully and when he got his go he didn't disgrace himself by any means
Star might be a bit much but he could be a decent bargain and mainstay of someone's team for years 10mil is nothing for that. The problem is having to play a deep line so there's only a few clubs to go for.
Why do you think Carvalho isn’t ready? Has looked good pre season and played whole season in champ last year
He’s a good lower prem upper champ defender. Solid type like a Ben mee, tarkowski type defender. In a team that’ll sit back and he doesn’t have to worry about space behind him he’ll be fine.
Tbh, he reminds me of a few players we've had that as as likely drift through games as grab them and drive them. I think we need to be patient with him in his development from championship to champions league. I think we have a very big talent but one that needs time an patience in carvalho. I think we are one player short of the same challenge we mounted last year in each of midfield and attack. We just need to keep working with the young talents and bring them up to that level. It's a good squad to do so, but a few injuries and the usual comments will start up I think. Ox, Ramsay, Jones, keita, jota are out for day 1. Only jota missing preseason is a big loss for us.
Thing is, klopp obviously thinks Elliott and carvahlo are going to be first teamers in a year or so. Doesn’t want to buy another player for now and stunt their development. Similarly, Jones has said himself he needs to now push on. can’t moan we don’t have numbers. Hendo fab thiago Keita Milner ox Jones Elliott. 8 players for 3 positions is more than enough. Get anymore than that and you suddenly stop a pathway for those 2 young players t develop. similar with front line. Salah Nunez diaz firmino Jota Carvalho. 6 players for 3 positions. Only issue is maybe no cover on Salah on that side, but can’t change too much in 1 window and don’t want to buy more to stunt carvahlo development.
yup, its #moneyball so that why i think we have to be all in to the cl and prem only this season. the difference to last season is as crap as they may be origi and minamino were senior players or some age and experience so when yuong players come in they just rarely give the same level of knowing where to be. IM we will be relying on very few knocks this season. the great thing is 5 subs everywhere gives us great options.
