Born in Oldham, after playing for Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City, Simms signed for Everton at the age of 16, turning professional in 2019.
He moved on loan to Blackpool in January 2021. He made his debut for Blackpool in the FA Cup as a substitute against Brighton & Hove Albion on 23 January 2021.
In his second appearance and his league debut, again as a substitute, he scored his first professional goals when he scored twice in a 5-0 win over Wigan Athletic on 27 January 2021.
International career Simms is eligible to play internationally for England, Poland and Jamaica.
On 6 November 2020, he was called up to the England U20 squad for a training camp.
The following week, he made his debut for England U20s, playing the second half of a friendly match against Aston Villa.

Aye, he'll do for me. Very similar to Rossco, could quite easily see Roberts, Clarke and Pritchard opening teams up based on his graft. Will be a threat from set pieces as well, looks another unit, like Ballard. Hoy Batth in there and we should get a few goals from them.

It don’t work like that mate, seen quite a lot of people saying the same thing tbh and it’s nuts, the best striker at the time will get picked!!
Stewart has only been here one season and tbh scored less then Charlie wyke.
Why does everyone think he’s irreplaceable?

Have you watched the games?

Stewart is an absolute centrepiece of the team.

He scores less than Wyke as he isn’t one dimensional. He brings others into games. His touches on have direction. He holds up and can play back to goal. He is 2 footed. He’s also one of the hardest working in the team.

Stewart is a quality player. I’ll say right now he will take to the Championship easily.

I’d be ****ing devastated if we lost him at this point. There isn’t a striker nearly as rounded as him we could get anywhere near at the minute. If we lose him we are gonna be weakened.

For me he is absolutely irreplaceable right now.

Spot on, Stewart is a far better footballer than Wyke

We must be looking at a very small fee for Bass? Maybe Pompey still owe us a few quid for Hume…
