Honestly no idea. I personally think it's still a little low. But the kind of "fans" we seem to have will start to flow back in if we are challenging at the top.

I think the club have shown their ambitions and love for the club already and now our fans should do the same
I wonder what figure would open up West Upper for all those who’ve found more important things to do but would be willing to drop them if it was reopened<doh>:emoticon-0114-dull:

What is the fascination with paying all up front? Do you get a discount if you do so? (I would think there must be some sort of discount.. more money in the club's pocket quicker..) How much is the discount?

I ordered mine on 3rd July and I’m checking on it now and again. Does anyone know what it means when it says ‘Upload’ under ‘Status’?

You don't. When the club used to charge a season at a time, they offered a monthly payment plan which cost you more overall. But now that they've made monthly payment the standard because it suits them better admin and accounting wise, the up front payment is just an option they've started offering again for those fans that complain that they want it. I don't understand the fascination with it either, it seems to be one of those things where people just want everything to be the same as it used to be.

I am paying monthly. But can see why you might want to pay in a lump sum if you had the money available to pay it. You then can’t spend the money you had set aside for city on other stuff, which I know I will do…

That's crazy that it's not discounted. You're actually paying more to give them money up front due to the time value of money (bank interest forgone etc.). To threaten not to sign up because the club won't let you overpay is nuts!

They want everyone on memberships and really don't want to be messing about with a small amount of up-front payments, they're doing it as a service as people asked for it, there's absolutely no reason to discount it.

The reason to discount it is that paying up front is otherwise more expensive than paying in instalments. By discounting it you're factoring in the time value of money and it would then actually cost the same. I agree with you that they're doing it as a service to people but the notion of discounting as if that provides the customer with a benefit is misleading.

It's like buying your phone outright up front or buying on a plan, the upfront cost is always going to be less than paying in instalments.

Regardless, if people really hate the idea of paying instalments, put the money in a bank account and pretend that's them paying to the club, then let the club take the instalments out of there. Basically Dennis' half-joking suggestion but really it's the same thing..

Why would they discount up-front payments if they want to discourage up-front payments and have everyone of monthly direct debit though?

As of right now, they’re giving people the option of paying in full up-front, but they’re not making it cheaper for the obvious reason of pushing people to go on membership instead.

Because it's not a discount. Which is why it's mad people are so keen to do it.

I’m lucky enough for it not to matter either way but some people like to budget this way, with a one-off payment.

Also, I know some paid upfront because they use their credit card for all the transactions they can – and to do this was all upfront only.

If people want to budget that way put it in a separate account and don't touch it. It's that simple.

New match day ticket pricing is great from the club yet again. North and the central sections of East and West are the most sold out from a memberships perspective, so having the other areas such as South as cheapest when they haven’t sold well should hopefully lead to a pretty full lower bowl. Good to see there will still be ticket offers through the season too.

I pay monthly for mine because I did it online. When I did my Daughters I couldn't do online because of glitches so did it in the store. but they didn't have the software instore to do DD so had to pay in full.
