I'd be surprised if at least 2 of Wilks, Scott and Williams weren't playing elsewhere by the end of the window.
Define 'attacking midfielder'? In the front 3 shota has so far played, the wide forwards invert to that space behind the 9 and allow the fullbacks to bomb on anyway. Its why Honeymans form dropped off (according to some) as we were asking him to do something other than play as an energetic, central 10. Tufan and Seri are creative from a little deeper. They can also take up advanced positions when we're in possession with either the security of a DM or 3rd centre back - depending on system Baz is suggesting another forward being close other than Tetteh, it'll be interesting to see if it's one who's comfortable wide or is a dedicated 10 I suppose.... *sorry Syd, this was in reply to Shark's post.
I’d definitely keep Williams. He’s looked decent whenever I’ve seen him. He’s absolutely rapid as well.
Exciting player. Could be good for us if he starts to find a bit of end-product though can't judge personally from what we've seen so far whether he'll find it or not consistently.
Last time we played with wingbacks in the championship Elmo got 3 goals and 9 assists, whilst Brady got 4 goals and 13 assists. Can we honestly see any of our fullbacks putting up those kind of numbers? Definitely need some more quality on the right
Can definitely see Fleming hitting double figure assists with better forwards. He’s got a pretty good free kick that he may be allowed to utilise too now KLP isn’t hogging them
I could see Fleming get a few, Coyle has an odd goal in him, and they'll be helped by the quicker, more mobile/better striker in theory, as you don't get assists if the forwards don't score. But, if we're going to play with defensive wide players at all we need cover on the right as very bare minimum, given there's no sign of Emmanuel at the training camp.
2019/20 season with Exeter Williams got 5 goals and 14 assists. I can see him making a significant contribution, if he’s played.
I thought he was more a winger/forward than wingback, or is that just where we've played him whilst he's been here?
He seems to have found his best form at wing back. Think it’s suits him very well as he’s quick defends well and gets up and can whip a decent cross in from the few times we’ve seen him
He can operate anywhere on the right. I think there’s a real player in there. He just needs consistent run of games without any injuries.
Not convinced he'd by my choice ahead of Coyle of there was a big job of actual defending to be done.
