I see O'Dowda wasn't involved in either game so there is another string to add to the bow.

Crole has played in both games, scoring last night. Other than he has played for the Under 23's I know nothing about him. Is he a striker and could he be given the opportunity to be our missing link?

Watched Crole several times last season playing above his age group for the under 23's.

Seemed a bit gangly and immature on times but he got better as the season wore on - a really big ask for him as an 18 year old to step up for the first team just yet

I keep ebbing and flowing on where we're at.

Not sure how Morison finds a starting 11 from all the bodies.
Hoping we dont just have a squad of mediocre players.

On the flip side, plenty of options that should ensure we dont end up with 11 sets of tired legs.
When we rotate or sub players we have seemingly able replacements.
Plenty competition to drive players on.
Flexibility to change formation.

I'm still wavering between half full and half empty.

Be interesting to compare squad numbers and wage bill last year to this.
We seem to have a lot more bodies this year.

Cheaper bodies though. The difference between a Mayfair lady of leisure and Butetown lady of the night.....

We were paying for 5 loaners as well, 3 from Prem clubs where the owning club might have made a wages contribution but we still picked up a hefty tab and maybe a loan fee.

As I said earlier I think a few of ours will be out of the door before long.

Morison suggesting to Glen in the local press that Tom Sang is in the mix for this coming season.

Good news. Hopefully in the middle of the park where his creativity and vision can add to our game.

We are strong on numbers even when we offload 2 or 3. Sorry for repeating myself in saying all that is missing is an accomplished striker.

Speaking of Ojo I'm sure some visionary on here said a couple of weeks ago that a former player may return. A Mystic Bluebird or what?

If SM can get HIS players playing together as well as he got the U23s then we should have an entertaining season. The end of hoofball and a little more streetwise on the pitch maybe.

Personally I'm not one for feeling on the results on the pitch but I get agitated of the performance or effort is not up to standard.

I'd rather have a team of hungry players who are happy to play for each other than big name egotistical lads who won't put a shift in to help the others.

I'm happy so far with the signings. I'm sure that there's a striker in the squad who, given good service, can knock in 15-20 goals for us. Watters Crole, Ojo(?) or even Colwill? Who knows but one things are for sure, we're in the championship and have as good a shout as anyone else before the season begins. Things could be a lot worse and difficult for us. SM will have a plan and I have faith in him

Every signing so far are permie, which I'm ok with.
Given the numbers in, will we see loanees as well?
.

I’ve predicted in previous posts that he’s going to get a couple of PL strikers on loan. This based in him staying he’s got 5 loan spaces and he’s going to use them.

I also suspect he’ll get an experienced defender in on loan as well.

You know my views on our defenders - McGuiness is just not quite up to it, Nelson is a disaster waiting to happen, Ng & Denham are the best of the bunch but only in a back 3. We’re going to leak goals especially from set pieces without someone more solid.

Ps Makes me wonder about the quality of Hudson as a coach

Must say I share that concern about Hudson.

Well so long as he’s better than Filip Benkovic :emoticon-0138-think
Saw a piece on WoL about the link to him.

Have to say he's another who's overall record isn't wholly convincing but if he has the right attributes and the correct attitude to fit into our plans/style of play then it could be a good move.

I think we can safely assume that there is now a much more scientific, stats and assessment based approach to our transfer policy when compared to our previous "he's a cracking lad who I've known for years" methodology that has been employed under our last few managers. :emoticon-0142-happy
