To be honest I'd be even happier if we used the savings to invest off the field. Seems Acun is keen to upgrade the training facilities which would be great.
Yep, it means we should have some cash in reserve and if Shota does want to persist with a 343 then we better spend that cash on some defenders.
I didn't appreciate how bad they were until Greaves & Fleming did that tour. They're dire for a side that's had plenty of PL money
Yeah I've been banging the drum for a while that it's criminal how little we've invested into our infrastructure considering we've had three seasons in the PL recently. It's why I hesitate a bit with the whole idea of selling players and reinvesting all/most money into new players. Need to put some aside for other aspects of the club.
If Shota is genuine when he says he'll continue with the 343 then I feel we need a RWB and another right sided CB
I won't lie, I'm completely alright with KLP going now. We've got Sinik to replace him on the right, 2 decent strikers and Allahyar confirmed. We just need to keep adding depth, but we've still got ages in the window and the squad is really coming together fast.
As would I, my point wasn't a complaint about how much we end up with, just that it will become unclear how much we have to reinvest when we sell these players.
It's never that clear anyway really. Never really know exact contract terms, signing fees, agent fees etc. There's always a lot more investment in a given player than just the fee.
Brentford moving on, West Ham seemingly aiming higher, Leeds signed other options. He might just be staying
You never know with no prem options on the table it might persuade him to sign a new deal. I still think signing a new deal with a reasonable release clause if we don't get promoted in the next few seasons is his best option. He'd still only be 23, same age as when Bowen moved.
So... Tetteh. Is he any good? Anyone actually seen him play? It looks like he scored 7 in 27 for a team which, lets be honest, were total bab last season. Kinda sounds like he might be backup.
I don't really get KLP's lack of patience to get to the PL. He's going to play there there's no doubt about it, but I never really saw the appeal of Brentford. They could easily be a Championship side again in 12 months. I really do hope he stays, signs an extension and smashes it. Ironically, after getting 2 strikers and a winger in for £3m, it's not like the money could be spent on those areas
