There's a rather telling element in "14m people voted for him". That is, of course, not how parliamentary-executive democracies work in the slightest, and the fact that parliamentary-executive democracies do not work in that fashion is by design. Power is meant to be vested in the hands of the MPs, who are individually elected, and who select their own leader, not in the hands of a single figure like a President.

But in Boris' eyes, every vote for a Tory MP was a vote for him, personally.
 
I liked that the ITV news had the presenter saying “we don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors” whilst showing Nadine Dorries coming out of No10.
I expect Carrie was asking the same.

****ing bonkers. I can only hope his humiliation is complete.

And the humiliation of the party that elevated him to that position. I want him to hold on for so long that he'll have to have the No 10 wallpaper surgically removed from under his fingernails. Make them spend every bit of legitimacy they have dragging him out of office.
