Alongside a running total of MPs who have resigned from the government. Currently (08:23 on Thursday) the total is 53.
It occurs to me that watching things unfold/unravel is rather like watching sand fall in an egg timer, with Boris on the top of the sand, desperately trying to stop other sand grains leaving, whilst not actually realising that all his 'allies' are falling downwards through the same exit. Or something like that.

Looking at the ever-increasing number of vacancies appearing in government, it seems that Boris is on a one-man mission to ensure that anyone without a job can have a wide range of opportunities to choose from. Personally, I'm going for 'Minister for Silly Walks', as I'm sure the current incumbent will have resigned by now.

I see that the door at No. 10 has been replaced by a turnstile....

There's an ever-changing list on the BBC website of which MPs have resigned from government, which ones have said they're staying, and one surprising group, of 'Ministers who are staying in the Cabinet, but are urging Boris to go'. Rather like turkeys who are not only voting, but actively campaigning, for Christmas.

53 and counting. Am I wrong to enjoy what appears to be Johnson's ignominious removal from number 10? No more BJs for BJ.

54 now. Can we change this thread to be a 'vote' type thread? Then link it to the BBC web site (other fine, upstanding, unbiased, news feeds are available) so that we can hold a sweepstake of how many (more) people resign, before Boris realises something may be afoot? I suspect that Carrie is already steaming off the Lulu Lytle wallpaper, as I type this...

I think she's just steaming. She'll be given spaffer an earful, not much kudos being the wife of the most reviled prime minister in history.

Milton, is your news feed ahead of mine? I saw 'Caroline Johnson resigns', but unless Boris is using his 'weekend' name, it's not yet the correct Johnson.

[Edit] BBC feed says "Boris Johnson will resign as prime minister today, the BBC has been told". I can't see why, he's done a good job, really (of destroying the Tories)
