“Jubilee” blamed on June’s wages being paid late and foreign banks for this month
The alarm bells are ringing.

As soon as their new owners asked the fans for help investing, you just knew they were chancersBut the Wigan supporters were telling everyone that they're an example of how a club should be run ...
... sorry but you must be mistaken.
Or are you
"Alarm bells are ringing once again at the DW Stadium with players and staff known to be considering their futures. Chief financial officer Richard Bramwell has also stepped down from the board of directors.
The club add that they signed a significant number of players last season and did not expect to be active in the summer window. One to watch."

Looking at their forum, most of them are denying it and downplaying it as nothing. In fact they're blaming the Mail (a newspaper I do hate) as having a go at them because of their owner having a go at the Mail because of the World Cup. To me though it should be something to be at least a bit concerned about, at least until things become much clearer.
I've always found them a bit of a strange lot, pretty insular with chips on their shoulders. This just confirms it a bit more
So many Wigan fans have a chip on their shoulder they were responsible for the Lancashire potato famine ...
... quite a few L1 clubs are like that but they're the worst imo.
I remember that. Also remember their fans saying something like it’s a “way of keeping the fans involved “ or some other bullshit!!As soon as their new owners asked the fans for help investing, you just knew they were chancers
Agreed. I remember a lot of fans (me included) were brushing off the fact that Donald was selling off the family silver when local journos were telling us all that they didn't have a pot to piss in. Never underestimate the power of denialYou can talk a lot of things away.
But late wage payments are a horrific sign in any business, and football is no different. Maybe these odd explanations have some weight, but if it was us I'd be thinking Derby.
