I'd expect Patterson to get more games for Everton next season, but obviously if available, he'd be a great signing. A part of me thinks he'd get a Premier League loan somewhere like Fulham or Forest if he was available. I'd like Hume to be in the plans long term, I just think he needs more development. It's a bit like the decision to loan out Embo in my eyes. Yes we could keep him in the squad and he'd sit on the bench most weeks playing a few games here and there, but it will be better for his development to send him out to play every week.
Agreed on Patterson, I'm a huge fan and would love us to get him but as you said is likely to either remain at Everton or get a loan to a PL team. Yeah I'm not against loaning Hume out and as you said it might be the best thing for his development. I would love him to have a great preseason and be starting against Coventry 1st game of the season as believe he has huge potential but if thats not the case then a loan move would be the best thing for him. I think Huggins probably needs a loan more, looked class the couple of times we saw him last year but needs to get some 1st team experience under his belt
Yeah I get ya, I just think we could maybe do one or two experienced heads, but tbh either, this model we have now is the way forward
Yeah I think we do need an experience player or 2 in the squad but I think we already have quite a nice mix of that at the minute. Love how positive we've all been so far with the way the club are doing things
Same here mate, I was saying earlier to my mate that I’ve seen Pompey fans on Twitter furious AOB didn’t sign a new contract and some labelling their own club as a ‘mid table league one side’ and you just think that was us not long ago, so happy with how we have progressed
Dane Scarlett on loan is still my hope. Had him scoring for fun on FM21 Relations with Spurs could help there.
Scarlett is class on FM!! I would take either him or Parrott on loan, both can play a few forward positions as well which will help over a long Championship season
I think it’s harsh to label us as ever being a mid table league one side The first season under Jack Ross was awfully close and that daft cup/fixture congestion cost us in the end IMO. Then you couldn’t really write what happened with COVID and totally f**ked the next season. Only really last season I’d say was a disappointment and even that was play offs. Taken us longer than we wanted but we’ve came up with a good and have the owner to drive us forward, which a lot of clubs don’t - they go up and yo-yo, like Rotherham will do again. I think we’ll surprise a few people this season. Remember KLD doing an interview when he took over and claiming we’d have a £50m warchest if we got promoted last season when he’d first came in. That wasn’t just for transfers, but a significant amount would be and he owns more of the club now. The transfer market has barely starting moving yet once the premier league clubs start signing players that’ll have a knock on effect and free up others for moves/loans.
Don't know how reliable the source is, but JC comes into my local often. Spoke to him a few weeks back, and he loved his loan.
My hunch is that he will be back. This sell a player with a huge sell on fee might do us wonders mind with the likes of Ballard and Cirkin. We get the security of our own player but the parent team benefit financially still for investing.
I have thought Clarke would be back here permanent for a while. Everything looks right for everyone. We will pay a fee, we get on with Spurs, he likes us and the manager, manager loves him, not far from his home. If it were a jigsaw it would be easy to put together.
Don't think we have ever been a midtable side in league 1, the lowest we have finished was under PP and that was the season covid ended the season early
Don't believe for a second we would pay £3.5m for him. Not a bad player but he didn't exactly stand out in League One, and he's in the last year of his contract. I'd be shocked if we pay more than £1m. Edit: for context, we're apparently haggling around the £500k mark for Rudoni, who had better attacking stats than Clarke last season, playing for a worse team in the same league, in a deeper position, has longer left on his contract, and is younger.
When we were talking about whether Richarlison would start for Spurs, did we all forget they’ve signed Perisic aswell? Can’t remember if anyone mentioned him. They’ve got some serious options up that end of the pitch next season!
Yeah I know what you mean, I’ve worded that badly, I’ve seen us labelled as that a lot by some of our own support is what I meant
Cant compare signing a player off Spurs and one of Wimbledon in terms of fees. Clarke started to get better and better as the season went on, he was a joy to watch in that second half against Sheff Wed in the 2nd leg. Clarke does have big upside and I think he could become a top player for us if signed permanently
They are building a really good squad. Perisic will be used more as a wingback I reckon as that's where he played for Conte at Inter
