I wasn’t sold on Clarke until the playoffs. Over those 3 games he looked like he could just beat any defender at will. Going to be so important to have a player like that in the championship especially when we struggle to break sides down

Same here, I thought he was going to be one of those with loads of skill but not really doing anything with it in a competitive match. Changed my mind 100% and hope he signs.

I would contend we require 3 bona fida strikers. I am assuming Stewart is one, I would be happy with Broadhead ( but as he seems to be injury prone?) we need another proven striker of Championship standard....
I agree with the last bit, trouble is Stewart is pretty much no.1. Would a proven championship striker be happy to sign knowing he'd start off as essentially back up when we play with one up front?

Don't believe for a second we would pay £3.5m for him. Not a bad player but he didn't exactly stand out in League One, and he's in the last year of his contract. I'd be shocked if we pay more than £1m.

Edit: for context, we're apparently haggling around the £500k mark for Rudoni, who had better attacking stats than Clarke last season, playing for a worse team in the same league, in a deeper position, has longer left on his contract, and is younger.

Think you’re going to eating your words come the end of the window then because we’ve definitely bid over £1m for Rudoni but they want £1.5m and we’ve got an offer of £3.5m in for Clarke which I believe will go through with a sell on clause.

Anyone who goes to the match and watched Clarke will tell you he’s got bags of talent and if you think otherwise then football really isn’t your sport. He’s quick, beats his man effortlessly and his ball control is next level especially when you compare to someone like Dajaku. He just needs a good run of games and the casuals will realise just how good he is. Spurs didn’t pay £10m for nothing.

I wonder if a loan for Diamond could be included in the Rudoni deal? I think we will get him, just a matter of time.

I'd heard gossip that a loan to them was being discussed as part of that deal.

They're a club that seems well run and could be trusted to look after one of our lads.
Good stuff. I suppose it may not be Diamond, we might want a L1 loan for him. Could it be one of those who has just signed a new deal? Younger lads seem to sign a contract then go out on loan.
