I know you said it cant but the vision must be to do the Kenny stand
Get the three sides nice and neat then look to do something innovative to the kop
I think whatever those plans might be they will be on a server in boston and not let near anyone this side of the pond.
The last shot above shows the issues with the Sir kenny side.
So the construction was that we took the existing lower stand that was in place from the 70 or 80s. the second tier and corporate boxes were added in 1990-92 and are maximum pitch of slope in the space. there is currently 11,672 in there. 6,800 of these are in lower tier.
the picture shows that to do anything remotely similar to the main stand (which is a compromise structure and has some crap views) the whole thing would need to go with a redone lower tier. this means 11000 fans not able to go to games for 2 years. = FSG losses.
The right to light issue means that skerries road and the houses on wylva road side would have to go. thats 3 rows of houses!
remember we are talking 11,672 to go up to 20,000 here.
the main stand as 9000 in the lower tier alone never mind the rich ****s in the boxes and the poor shivering masses up in the sky
This alone would make anfield a 70k stadium.
the Kop side is something of a quandry. The issue is that they've gone and built a super store and do a shed load of business to OOT tourists for massive dosh for signed photos and frames stuff etc etc etc. thats and the albert basically stop any thought of something bigger than today but the single biggest issue when you look at the walton brek a road is the fact its and A road.
https://www.planit-ie.com/walton-br...ls,social, economic and environmental renewal.
Its not like whats there is all that but the church there is an issue so to reroute that road even slightly to give anfield room to expand the kop to have another however many people up in the rafters is a problem.
HOWEVER, if you solve the road issue then you run into the fact that the kop is steep, narrow leg room and probably wouldn't mean guidelines so you should well expend it and end up getting very few extra seats.
the new main stand and how the centenary stand are done in terms of roof trusses means you can't fill in corners.
Finally. unless someone is willing to work the access issue AKA rail then getting 70k people in and out of the area every home game is still another issue.
this is why FSG have done what they have done.
Sold melwood upgrade kirkby = cheapest means to modern training facilties (not world class mind, just modern)
120mil loaned to club on 10 year pay back (5 years ago we started pay back) to build main stand
70mil on anfield road end paid for full out of LFC own accounts. (no fsg exposure)
There is now way in hell this lot are putting down north of 250mil to put 9000 extra seats in the sir kenny stand cos its a total rebuild and the would not take the 11k capacity loss while they did it.
