Its like dominoes. Ramsey waiting on Bale to sign, Bale was waiting on Ralls.

Made for interesting viewing as the departing City coaches stopped so fans could get off and redress the balance. A definite away win as I remember it.
We then passed Dave Jones and Lennie Lawrence, separately, on our way back.
Was that before or after we stopped for a piss in the bushes because one of us was getting desperate?
I’m surprised by that and can only infer his agent couldn’t find a similar placed club to pay him more than what he’s now to earn. That is unless the club caved into his wage demands - it’s only a 2 year deal though; I’m sure he would have wanted 3.
It adds more intrigue to our first pick central midfield following the signings of Andy R, and Adams joining Colwill, Wintle and Ralls.
It also is a concern that none of these are a genuine playmaker. Apart from Colwill who’s best position is a bit of an enigma, they seem to be all workhorses. So where’s the creativity through the middle of the pitch?

Whatever trio Morison selects, it couldn’t be any less effective than the terrible combo of Pack, Bacuna & VaulksDon't know but our midfield will be very hard to get through.![]()

Glad to see you've moved on.A non-galactico realistic option cropping up...............

Another youngster. Unless Morrison will be sticking about, Id rather see some experience in there.A non-galactico realistic option cropping up...............

Starting to get congested in our midfield, as it will be in central defence.I think he’s been mentioned before

Just thinking about the CB situation.
If we want some experience in there, how about big Sol for a season?
Still gutted that we let him go in the first place. Was it Mick in charge at the time? Whoever it was, they didn't put up a fight to keep him. We'd have had a couple of seasons out of him and what a defensive coach he'd have made.Just thinking about the CB situation.

He's a big man and I'm sure he'd say the right things.I think he'd find it difficult returning after his critical public statements about the club over the way he was released last time.
Having said that, we need some experience in the heart of the defence, but just wonder where the experience/past it line should be drawn.
You wonder how many of our 'failed' players might have thrived in our brave new world? But that was when we had no mid/long term plans.
Agree with and applaud all that you said. However, and while I know he's a big man, if he came back now there wouldn't be an awful lot of future for him now that Hudson hold the position that he would have naturally fallen into. That said, if he was happy to come back I'd be all for it. He and the club went through so much together and it's such a shame it ended in the way that it did. He's a big man and I'm sure he'd say the right things.
My worry with a new squad, especially with a lot of youngsters, is the leadership. Its why at the end of the season and the proposed clear out I said we needed experience at GK, CB, CM and up front, to hold the team together and talk the new players through the difficult times. And there are always plenty of those in a championship season.
And that leadership is vital in the first couple of months of a season. Get off to a bad start and confidence can drain from youngsters and the season is gone.
Often, a player is worth more than his pace or his skills, the top 3 inches are vital. You can afford to 'carry' a player physically just for his nous and leadership.
Might only need it for half a season while the team gains experience of playing together.
We currently have Ralls in the middle of the park who will have to hold it all together.
