Hull City have bolstered their ranks by agreeing a deal to sign Portuguese defender Tobias Figueiredo. The 28-year-old was an unused substitute in Nottingham Forest's 1-0 Championship play-off final win over Huddersfield Town at Wembley last month, but played 26 times for the Reds in what proved to be a historic campaign.

Figueiredo had been an ever-present at Forest since signing from Sporting Lisbon, initially on loan, in January 2018. The defender has proven himself a no-nonsense stopper at Championship level and could be a great addition to the Tigers’ squad.

He will become the fourth major signing at the MKM Stadium this summer, joining Allahyar Sayyadamnesh, Adama Traore and Ozan Tufan as City boss Shota Arveladze looks to strengthen his squad for the Championship campaign.

Our kid comes up trumps. Said there would be an announcement but nothing to blow your load.

Well I am sure you are correct. But the natives including me are understandly a little restless.
This is what the last 8 years under the Allam’s have done to us. We used to worry like this about signings at the start of the season. Not a week into pre season. I know when I’d rather be worrying:emoticon-0105-wink:

All seriousness though, media outlets not helping at all. Everything done and dusted in Turkey, then Baz says not quite. Once one comes they’ll all start hopefully

Figueiredo was highly rated at Sporting academy. He had a good start in the first team but soon was clear he didn't have the fingers to play portuguese guitar. Decent signing for city but don't expect a brilliant player.

I donno, as long as he's decent at kicking the ball I don't really mind if he's a decent musician or not :emoticon-0143-smirk

Not going to pretend I didn't want us to get Twine, I thought he'd be great for us, but paying up to £5m for a kid who's only played in the 3rd tier is a hell of a lot of cash.

I do think he'll make the step up well but it's still a gamble as so many don't make the step up
It’s nice to see them looking at the top end talents in the football league rather than released players to make up the numbers
