I’m sure a lot of people would bite your hand off at a guaranteed 4 more years in the premier league as things currently stand. Especially on SulkWeb Four more years! Four more years!
From the fourth worst defence in the league? With two of the other three going down and the third being insanely lucky very late on? The thinking is presumably “not much more”
I’d expect a more accomplished striker for that, perhaps I’m living in the past. £20-£25m would be realistic.
Agree 30mil for someone with 6 goals and half a good season is a lot. Can understand why we aren’t in for him at that price. Although he does have a lot of potential
I may prove to be wrong but i've seen things from him on the pitch that makes me think that he will be worth at least double that in a couple of years playing regularly in the PL.
The German subsid of my old company had someone who worked for them called Heinz Soupen! Not sure if it was his parents sense of humour, but presuming not as soupen isn't German for soup.
More than he was worth, but is proven PL goal scorer. I would love to get Broja. Maybe we will and the wet spam bid is just an effort to get his price up.
Yep, that’s more like our sort of player. We ain’t paying £30m for anyone! That’s a definite & that’s not a knock, that’s just where we are.
I liked how this one came out of nowhere. Hopefully there are more of the same Makes me wonder about the ones with heavier reporting - Richards and Svannburg I wonder if we are still in for Richards or whether it was a smokescreen? The Minamino links won’t go away. But I can’t help but think it is the Liverpool media desperate to drum up sales so they can bang on about net spend when people try to tell them they have just paid the 4th highest English transfer fee ever when they try to pretend they don’t make big signings and it is all down to Klopp’s genius coaching Would people like to see him return? And if so for how much? Certainly not 17m. I don’t see why they think they deserve a profit on a player with no evidence that he has improved. I’d consider it for at or close to what they signed him for (7m). They’d never go for it though
I seemed to be one of the very few on here that wanted us to keep Minamino last summer (albeit for a maximum of £10m). That was because I rated him ahead of Theo, Redmond, Smallbone and Djenepo 12 months ago. And, shock horror, I still do now.
So do I. But not at 17m. Maybe at most split the different between what they paid and what they want and get to 12m. But with some of that being appearance and goal involvement dependent
As ever we are just speculating as we don’t have all the facts. Is Minamino better than those on that list? Yes Is he actually that good? No Could we find someone better if we were to bin off our current options? Possibly, worth the risk I guess if Minamino can be had without denting the budget all that much and we were also signing at least one other number 10 type and getting rid of all the ones listed then I’d be fine with it. If we are only going to sign 1 number 10 id rather it not be Minamino and we roll the dice on someone else the scouts like
Yeah this is exactly where I am. If we come out of the summer with the number 10 options as Armstrong, Minamino, (maybe) Elyounoussi and at least one other new one then ok. If he was to be our only number 10 option then I’d kind of disappointed In fact I’d ideally see us get rid of all of the “10s” except Armstrong and Tella and get 3 new ones in (one likely as a loan). But that is likely far too drastic. Perhaps keeping one of Redmond or Elyounoussi but both only have one year left and I don’t think either should get a contract extension at their current wages. Where are Leicester when you need them?
I would rather keep Redmond, was never vey impressed with Minamino, he scored a couple of good goals, but seemed very weak and easily ushered off the ball
