Yeah I thought it was slightly odd. Even if there is interest from their side £25m is surely nowhere near what we would want for him so seems like bollocks that they would “submit” such an offer
Must be a joke surely. Minimum is 60! Arsenal doing the whole suarez all over again. Next they'll offer a penny more
Paul merson reckons JWP is the best passer in England. Love JWP and don't want him to leave but madness to think he is the player they are missing. He has always missed the killer link up ball to play in our strikers or am I missing something. ‘They are crying out for a player who can spray the ball around from the middle of the pitch. They have plenty who can play nice, one-touch, tippy-tappy stuff but no-one who can switch the play or play a killer ball over the top.’
If that was coached into him then I can definitely see him being worth 60 million. But without that seems a bit mad. Imagine if we bid 60 million for him now? Sadly I think he would be ideal for someone like liverpool to replace Henderson. Surrounded by ridiculous attacking players and can be the player to calm things down.
If that was coached into him, he'd be one of the best CMs in the world. £60m isn't unreasonable given what he does provide, but his passivity with the ball at his feet (and innate desire to play deeper) is the missing piece that increasingly looks like it won't get added.
I saw that headline too - (Arsenal handed James Ward-Prowse transfer instruction as opening £25m offer is rejected) - and it took me a while to work out what it meant! It was talking about Merson’s comments on JWP as an ’instruction’ in the same headline as Arsenal having a £25m offer for Lisandro Martinez (of Ajax) turned down. Pretty misleading at worst and at best, very clunky writing.
Also, if it makes people feel better about the transfer, Svanberg has been starting for Bayern for nearly a decade in my FM save.
