Anyone interested in taking on the club should be asked to show proof of funds up front and keep it in escrow before any due diligence is started.

Not only will it show you have the cash but also serious about taking it on.

Proper amateur hour by the administrators and the EFL.

Just give to Ashley and be done, like they should have done months ago instead of ignoring him and expecting the chancer to complete.

Shocking mate. £2m in fees already apparently. I honestly dont know what they have done, but they seem entirely unable to do what they have been appointed to do.

No idea mate. I think they were appointed by Morris, so maybe him? Maybe the new owners have to pay? Imagine if it is the new owners and they get Ashley in within a month - bet he wouldnt fancy paying £2m.

What I find mind boggling is that these administrators have gone so far down the road with this fella. And that the famed EFL fit and proper person test was passed. Yet it comes to this. Now we have the EFL wanting to work with the administrators to get a sale done. What could possibly go wrong?

The EFL scare the **** out of me with these Crypto clowns sniffing around SAFC. They could probably send them a dodgy bank statement showing a couple of billion quid and the EFL would fall for it.

I wouldnt worry about the crypto thing mate. All about self publicity for them, opportunist nonsense, at least that is my opinion. But agree on the EFL, they are bloody hopeless.

I bloody hope so. Just want it sorted so we can crack on with signings and pre season. Hopefully it doesn't drag on too much longer and the 2 arseholes are gone asap.

I reckon it'll be part of the new owners bill. Admin love stretching stuff like this out.

I think Ashley has already said he wouldn't pay them. He'll know they've been at it.

Derby County Limited will pay the administrators fees out of what assets they have - they are also a preferential debtor meaning that they will be paid in full before other existing debtors. If administration works well Derby County Limited will continue to trade with new owners meaning that debtors will at least get a percentage of their money owed but it may be as little as 10p in the £1 (i don't know what it is in this case). The theory is that something is better than nothing and if jobs can be safeguarded along the way then all the better.

"Chris Kirchner has withdrawn his bid to buy League One side Derby County.

BBC Sport has been told Kirchner took the decision due to the difficulty he has had transferring funds to the UK."
