It’s a horrible expression which shows intolerance and hatred towards handicapped people. Please don’t start trying to claim the moral high ground.
Just seen your post. For me using an offensive term at the expense of mentally handicapped people is below the belt regardless of whether it's a joke or not.
Regardless of what you find offensive or not, you used a term that many people find very offensive and TBH, not remotely appropriate to joke about. I'm going to leave it there as I don't want to drag this on and on.
It’s not really about being a snowflake, you just can’t use phrases like that. It’s a bit like calling someone a spastic, just not acceptable.
Disability is hilarious mate. There's nothing funnier than constant rounds of medical appointments, including respiratory, physio, and audiology. I absolutely pissed myself laughing when school after school stated they couldn't take my little one because they don't have enough money to fund help she'd need. It was like Saturday night at the palladium when the doctors told me they wasn't sure how long she'd live for. Being constantly stressed in restaurants and other public spaces because I'm worried that people are staring and judging, is comedy gold.... Good job I'm not a snowflake.
If ever there was a good time for a signing (or departure, or contract extension) to be announced - now would be it !
How have you taken an indirect remark/joke and come back to me with that. You make it sound like a personal attack, which it clearly wasnt.
To actually focus on the rumour that started this - what happened to Diaz. He was on fire and seemed to get a bad injury and was out for ages and didn’t really come back He can apparently play across the forward line which would be useful. The other clubs linked could invariably pay more I’d only imagine we would jump up the queue if we could find a way of sending Armstrong back - albeit having to subsidise his wages. No idea what the plan is with him
Lincoln clearly took it as exactly that, because he was offended by it. As Tom says, let’s move on, but please remember that words on a screen are much more stark and far less nuanced that having a laugh in person.
Championship strikers are overpriced and not really worth the risk that they can’t step up to the PL at £20m or whatever the standard amount seems to be.
