Yeah that is sick but so is the fact they won 2 of them lol. City's players must've watched that and have been physically sick that they weren't picking up the trophy !
Lots of hand wringing this morning about the poor organisation around the Stade de France. Remember Wembley last year?
If fans without tickets try to storm the stadium in France, the French police won't pussyfoot around. We saw their MO during the Gilet Jeunes protests. I feel for the families etc with tickets that were caught up in the disturbances, but the idiots that tried to muscle their way in should take much of the blame. We await statements from the French authorities.
I thought Salah was pretty good last night and but for Courtois could easily have scored couple of goals. Mane and Diaz were poor.
Diaz was like a boy against men. His time will come. Salah gave the ball away repeatedly. He should have scored with his header and the one on one he had, although that was a great save. Mane was the better of the three imo, but a big chance didn't fall to him. Biggest disappointments for me were Robertson and Alexander Arnold. Robertson hardly got forward at all and Trent had his worst game for a long time. All the dead ball deliveries were poor too. Real Madrid had a plan and the players to make it a success. I think they were fortunate Liverpool have been well off it for a while now, with the goals really drying up. Probably competing on all fronts was just too much in the end, physically and mentally.
Many reports now saying that most of the trouble before kick-off was due to poor organisation and heavy handed police. Some fans did climb over gates, but apparently had tickets and were just desperate to get in and see the game.
Salah also got past defenders (as he did frequently) and sent a hard shot curling into the corner from outside the area, which Courtois managed to miraculously get a hand to. That was certainly one of the best GoalKeeping performances I can remember ever seeing, and certainly won that game for Real Madrid. I thought Mane gave the ball away too often and thought Salah was Liverpool's best in their front 3. I also thought Thiago had a great 1st half controlling Liverpool's attacking play when they were all over Madrid, but faded 2nd, maybe not 109% fit. The Commentators on Norwegian TV with Robbie Fowler in particular, thought Thiago was going to drop out in the warm up, but concluded when he started that they were possibly playing mind games with Madrid.
Ffs 1-0 Forest, own goal. Just before half time. Forest been on top with Huddersfield looking to hit on the break but not offering enough.
Forest playing like us side ways & back, not creating a lot but lead, spence not playing like he did against us, could’ve been there today!
That save from the curled effort was bread and butter. The one he put onto the post from Mane was the best one. Amazing how we all see games differently. I don't remember seeing Mane give the ball away much, whereas Salah did. Diaz did absolutely nothing.
Yeh, well people obviously do see many things differently, but I certainly agree Courtois's save from Mane was brilliant too.
Looked like a pen to Huddersfield there but Moss books player for diving ! Forest certainly had the luck today
Well there's a team I hope get spanked every single week in the prem, then get totally ****ed over by the EFL for cheating FFP as they have with their cast of thousands - fookin ****ers
Also a lot of local, notoriously hard, youths having a go at police added to tension. St Denis is a war zone. My daughter was, for some reason, in Watford last night for a bit. The pub she was in was a bit bare and she asked the landlord about it. Apparently a load of Liverpool supporters had been in on their way to Wembley and stole everything. Cushions, pictures off the wall, cutlery, everything. He had to close the pub and call the police. When I first moved to Italy the fallout from Heysel was still strong, I was forever having to apologise and distance myself from them, even in Milan where they have no love for Juve. This is what Europeans think of when they see Liverpool, not Hillsborough. The Liverpool fans might have been entirely innocent last night, and the organisation looks ****. But…..meh.
