Dramahs contract doesn't expire until 2024. Leeds have been linked to Calvin Ramsey. A young RB from Aberdeen who is also interesting Liverpool. Luke Ayling has just had an op which leaves him out for at least 4 months and because Stuart Dallas is also out long term it leaves the RB slot open for the first couple of months. If we don't get Ramsey then I'd expect Dramah to get the nod. If we get Ramsey and Ramsey impresses pre-season then I'd expect Dramah to go out on loan again and probably to you guys as he loved it down there. It's also possible Leeds cash in this summer but with both RB's out injured I don't see the sense behind that. Overall I don't see you getting Dramah on loan first half of the season but he may be available in January when we get players back fit. Hope you don't mind me popping on. Me and @Oldsparkey are best mates.
In your dreams!........ Some good guys on the Leeds board but he's not one of them - I think Rod Hull is still working him. The only chance we had of getting Drameh back was if Leeds stayed up, so that was one box ticked. The downside is the Leeds injury issue which unless addressed with new imports will mean that Drameh will stay up there. BTW Emu, the tagging function on the forum isn't working at the moment mate.
.......at the moment you should have said not enough. BTW, I'm neither miserable nor an old git - git yes, but not that old.
Don't know if this is correct, but Sky reckons John Swift will not be offered a contract and has been officially released by Reading. I know he could command a decent wage in the Championship, but he's just the sort of creative player we're desperate for in midfield. Worth pushing the boat out?
I think he's still only in his mid 20's. and in my humble opinion, a far better option than getting Doyle back - even if we could.
Agreed. I'm reading at Reading that he got 11 goals and 13 assists in the 38 games in the season just passed. Those are good stats compared to what we have.
So you have to ask, why did they let him go, or didn't he want to renew? If they couldnt afford to keep him, I doubt we could afford him either.
Good point. From the little I've read, he was offered talks on several occasions but declined. That in itself doesn't address whether his reasons were financial or about ambition. If it was about money I agree we probably won't be in the market. Ambition may give us a bigger chance if that's his agenda. Personally, I think he's probably looking further up the ladder but there's no harm in finding out about him.
I did hear we were enquiring about him a couple of years ago - I think I posted it on here at the time. The problem then was he had a couple of years left on his contract and Reading were only interested in a big bucks transfer fee - I think I saw around the £10M mark mentioned in their local rag. We should be able to offer a competitive wage package now without an upfront fee to find - trouble is other clubs around us will think the same. I suppose the other factor would be his own ambition footballing wise . How badly does he want to get out of this division at the right end instead of flirting with the wrong end like Reading this past season.
He's 26 years old so in the right age range. Career average if one goal every six games. Good for a midfielder and better than any of our alleged strikers last season. Get him and Laurent to provide the midfield creativity we need.
