I am not the one to speak about finance but I would assume the gruesome twosome will now want more for their shares now we are in the championship

For every £ kld puts in they have to pay equivalent of their % of shares (my understanding). So they may want to sell quickly so not to pay, because the budget will also increase. Depends if they think holding out will be worth it in the long run or not.

My opinion is that KLD is clearly the most likely buyer.

He's also, obviously, close to Sartori.

Anyone buying Donald and Methven's shares would know that's all they get.

They'd have absolutely no control over what KLD does.

So, as things stand, he has the upper hand and can basically ignore them but ensure they pay their dues.

I know we'd like them gone but they're basically harmless ...

... I get the feeling he's stitched them up.

i am thinking along similar lines.

KLD's family have got a lot of know how when it comes to running a football club (and other business' ) and i honestly think if he thought buying them out last season would be worth it he would have done so, i now believe he has them basically where he wants them and i very much doubt they will want to contribute to the much increased running costs of a championship club, especially as they are basically sat and watching with little to no say while pouring cash in...so do they stick around for probably zero gains or what could turn into a big loss or do they take the cash (offered) and run?

Agreed, Smug. The only way I can realistically see some one other than KLD buying Methven and Donald's shares is if its someone close to KLD, say his brother. So they are basically hamstrung, though I do have a nagging feeling that Methven may be trying to play both ends at the same time and might want to stick around in a minor role because it benefits him somehow. I hope I'm wrong on that!

I like KLD, I'm more worried about Davison tbh, he has made a few blunders with tickets and marketing stuff at L1 level, I hope he sorts it out for next season.

What makes a club big? It’s been discussed many times with a lot of opinions voiced. Obviously a good history, own the ground and the size of the facilities, money to buy the best players, and the size and intensity of its support. Sunderland ticks all except one; finance to buy the best. Or perhaps that is coming. In my opinion the most important of these requirements is the support. But not just the numbers, it’s the way in which those supporters do their supporting. And our supporters are immense! The way they celebrate but at the same time behave has really impressed me over the years. Generation after generation upholding the good name of the club. On Saturday their behaviour won the club friends from all over the country and the world. That short video of them at the end singing our anthem brought tears of pride to my eyes and even solicited a comment from FIFA, apparently. KLD must now be more determined than ever to take this club to the very top. Everyone who went to the game should be proud of themselves - I certainly am!

Remember when the daft lads on another forum were convinced KLD was just some innocent boy being played by Donald and Methven and how Donald was "clearly still pulling the strings" etc :emoticon-0140-rofl:

I read somewhere else yesterday that the family aren't as rich as they claim as KLDs trust fund is ONLY £3 billion and his mam is ONLY worth £4-5 billion.

Must be hard in their house when the gas bill lands :emoticon-0102-bigsm
