So now we have 3 centre halfs and 1 right back and 1 left back....

I have heard chester can play full back I hope so as we are screwed if we loose either of those at the moment.

Macca can be **** at times, but I like him, determination, the occasional comedy mistake and ginger hair

Are you all a set of parrots?...not one of have seen Hobbs play and all of a sudden he is the new messiah....this would be laughable if it didn't happen with every new signing...out with the old and in with the new....more like baby out with the bath water! ....Pearson is intent in eliminating every vestige of the old regime including good players who would do a good job for us...why?...simply he cannot handle players, doesn't talk to them andcjust wants yes men who want to show their gratitude to him for giving them contracts....it will all end in I'm afraid.

Jesus, finally somebody else said it! It really is quite embarrassing to read this constant praise for NP when he signs people we've never really seen play. If he signed Manucho people would hail it has a great signing. It's pathetic.

Don`t forget Corey EVANS can also play in the back four, Macca is all heart and sadly no footballing brain, he is a walking disaster area when he gets time on the ball and is prone to rash challenges/ headless chicken moments. No doubt he will be a success while on loan at the Tykes as he was when on loan for us, but the moment anyone puts a contract in his hands god help !!

B&A well put

We don't see the majority of the players we bought the past few years, it is nice to finally see players who are proven in this league join us! So if anything it is a huge improvement on 2.5m signings of players none of us had ever heard of before, let alone seen :emoticon-0114-dull:

The thing is TWF, Hobbs isn't really an unkown quantity. He's highly rated and played first team for the last 2 seasons at Leicester and 30 games for them this season for all to see. And besides you probably made that account and that post so it looked like you had someone to agree with you.

Jack Hobbs was signed by Liverpool for £750k when just 17.

Having not been able to displace Jamie Carragher or Sami Hyypiä, he went to Leicester on loan to get first team football.

While on loan at Leicester he was instrumental and helping them win the League One title, making it into the PFA League One team of the season, along with winning Leicester's young player of the season award.

He then signed on a permanent and was ever present in the Leicester team that made the play-off's, winning Leicester's player of the season award.

He's played for the England U19's and was described by Stuart Pearce as 'a fantastic young prospect, who will be capable of Premier League Football in the future'.

You'd have to be completely stupid, or have an irrational hatred for those that run our club, to not see this as a good addition.

So why are Leicester (a team we should be competing with) letting him go then? If he's the best thing since sliced bread? Oh and as for the England U19s, Scott Wiseman played for the U20s, that means nothing.

one defeat in 16 league games and some umpties are criticising the manager for getting a player he knows well.

Looks good on paper but not in reality.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics.

For the record, I never criticised this signing, I just criticised the standard "OMG Best Signing Ever!" response every signing seems to get now.

sorry twfy but fingers crossed eh.

Because Sven has brought in his own people, just as Nigel has with us(they let Fryatt go too and he has been the best thing since sliced bread).

He played for the England U19's in Championship qualifiers, Scott Wiseman played in an unofficial England U20 French tournament, it was not a recognised international tournament and he was only there because Taylor was in charge, as I'm sure you're well aware.

I forgot to mention, Hobbs won the Players Player of the year last season too.

Difference being Sven's appear to be working.

They're both about as prestigious as each other to be honest.

Fair one. He has friends.
