You need 2 good players for every position over a season, so max staying is ideal. You get rid of the ****e and add better than the best players and you can't go.. Two good layers.
2 assists and an 85 min goal today to grab an automatic promotion place for Bristol Rovers. Good on the lad!
Apart from anything else he seems to have the ability to kick the ball on target. He can score a ****ing goal from midfield We know enough about the ****e we've been giving games. I get a bit bored hearing about development... If they're really good enough they're ready. Carr says he's the best he's seen since Gascoigne , so get him out there or they might not get another chance. Unlike Foden he's not competing with David silva etc
I'd be looking at trying the old double-pivot in midfield. The set up against City was predictable, in having a single DM (Bruno, who needs more freedom than being a DM anyway, so that's a poor decision from Howe) and two midfielders covering the middle as well as left/right. I think a switch up to two more holding midfielders either side of Anderson as an attacking threat would work better. Bruno right and Joelinton left would be my choice here. There's always too big a gap between our striker and the midfield, I think we could do with trying it out and sticking Anderson there for the last two games, until Paqueta arrives in the Summer.
Unfortunately he can't - PL rules say that any player who has been out on loan can't play fir parent club until start of transfer window. Only exceptional circumstances such as no 'keeper can be used for appeal
I'm always extremely wary about anyone who comes out of our dogshit academy. This guy has been good in League 2, but something of a step up to the Prem...! Whereas Matty has been dross in the Prem, but excels in League 2.
I thought he played well vs City but we never saw him again The reports from carr are that he's ready now and that he's the best since Beardsley and gazza, so he's got something not seen for a long time which is encouraging.
If that was the case he'd be a regular in the first team every game. Coach's always like to big up youngsters with "the best since Gazza" spiel, but at the end of the day Gazza was the most individually talented player we ever had, so let's not take that as gospel just yet. Also comparisons to a total legend like Beardsley also big him up a lot. If he's ready now, give him a chance on the bench and see, otherwise loan him to a higher up team, Championship maybe.
I've never heard that comparison from scouts only idiots in the media. They tend to know what they've got and look after them these days and develop the talent. There's something they've seen that they haven't for years and they do that day in day out all over the place. I also remember him playing 30 mins vs man City and he was very impressive. You might be right, but I say he's got something.
It just seems like every time a promising youngster appears they're immediately labelled "the next Messi", making it almost impossible to spot the genuine talent. I hope Anderson comes good, its just im a cynic cos im massively jaded since our academy has produced nothing but rubbish for years. The youth system is one of the priorities for the new owners to sort out.
