Agreed, you only get better by playing with / against players that are better than you so a move to a championship club to test him there is almost essential for his development
Bringing this thread back having seen a little more of the lad - anyone know what his best position is? Seems to be an attacking midfielder but doesn't seem to be in a position that we need - or could he be understudy to Almiron?
I wondered the same. Not sure how he fits with Eddie's style & tactics. Don't think he's an out-and-out winger (?), not a true box-to-box CM either, more an attacking midfielder. But we play a 4-3-3, so not entirely sure our style plays to his trengths (sure I've seen that phrase somewhere before). Seems a decent player with good potential, but not sure how best to utilise.him.
Probably on the left of the midfield 3 if we had an actual holding midfielder, but as you say we don't really play that way
Yes. But unfortunately Shelvey is injured at the moment. We need plenty of depth in midfield, with lots of different options, so its good to have an attacking midfielder available in case we need to change tactics. Good to see him given more game time as he will get up to speed and do a job.
Another good cameo last night ! Scored a great goal and what what volley before that. You can see why scouts rave about his technical ability. Sad he's been robbed of a great moment.
Seemingly Howard Webb has apologised to Wolves for.not awarding a pen against us and not sending Pope off I wonder if he is going to apologise to Newcastle and Anderson for not allowing his goal , even though it was the second and third passage of play. How the.hell it ended up with Brookes sending Tierney to the monitor to check it out is shocking Its akin to the ref and assistants against Burton Albion when none of them knew the Laws of Association football
I'm more interested in what comes after the or......... bit But you know my views on the Refs and the PGMOL
I still don't understand why it was ruled out .... I feel sad for Anderson because he had a bad performance vs sheff we'd, had to have his home debut cut short when Pope went off and a goal would have kicked him on .... he's a very good player that is a bit tense in his play. He knows he needs to get a goal or two to stay here ... young players need that big moment, he got it and they took it away from him.
In a way you could say it is a good learning curve for him And he will again get to celebrate a goal, hopefully one of the many against Manure
I know many want to **** all over him too but for me I want a local hero ... longstaff I thought was very good last night BTW.... he's really proven me wrong .
Sometimes actions (the goal being disallowed following intervention by VAR) speak louder than words and that applies here.
Insane decision to disallow the Anderson goal. The defender deflected the ball with his instep. It was deflected to one of his players who then deflected it off Longstaff. What kind of ****cunt would come to the decision that its not a legitimate goal?
