Alan Shearer apparently.
Quite surprised at that. Thought it would be someone from a more successful club.

Cheers <ok>

Didn't even know there was a stat for that but have often thought it would be more telling than who scored the most goals in a season and such since many of them may be pointless <laugh>

Drogba ffs

They putting in any old **** now eh<doh>

Did this diving **** ever even hit 20 league goals in a season?

Nah mate, for a while he was the best striker around. Strength, link up play, movement, and guaranteed finisher.

He was class, fully deserves to be there.

There's a few players like Shearer, Sheringham, Wright etc whose Careers overlapped both the old Division 1 and Premier League, so I guess you have to include their whole career including the early years, even though the top flight had a different name.

Funny thing is, I didn't even bring it up that Wright should be included, Flossy was trying to use it in his assertion that Vardy should be in there for being the player who scored most goals as an old codger. <laugh>
Presumably Sheringham is in there then because he holds the record for most Premier League goals scored after the age of 40.

I would put Sheringham in there because he did it at a number or different clubs over a career that spanned two decades.

Saw him play for millwall many moons ago and you could tell then that he was gonna be top top class.
