But that was a fair while back before it went downwards- December 2017 Bristol City v Man Utd 2-1 to us. The fall came after the cup run.
Even then football in and after "the fall" was better than the vast majority of what we have had in the last 2 seasons under DH and NP
Surely success is based on achieving against expectations, LJ did to a point, ie year on year improvement, but failed ultimately to reach the playoffs. He was given 4 years plus to achieve the main goal. Nige is only one year in, and seems to have achieved his first goal of staying up. Now he has a very difficult task of somehow managing to improve on this season, whilst having to reduce costs, (not something LJ ever had to do). Can we compare the two?, not yet really. It’s all academic really, LJ failed and rightly was got rid of, Nige will go the same way if he fails, as of yet he hasn’t, I personally hope he doesn’t fail, not for his sake, but for ours.
Who says this was the goal? I'll bet it wasn't SL, it seems to have been something specific to this site after the $****$how of last season. Life's easy if the bar is low...
One for all the LJ detractors, you will like this. Just on a senior management team call with my company, and one of my fellow VPs from the US just said, we need to get better at the basics, then said " we need to be world-class at the basics"
