I didn't realise they have been targeted.

I'm not sure what you mean about then being scapegoats ....

    ... scapegoats for what?

The evidence is clear in every single reputable research paper produced.

If you want a simple example, this thread is perfect. Lia Thomas was literally ranked 335 in the male category, in which she competed for 19 years, and ever did anything of note.

Took hormone replacement therapy for 18 months, switched to womans racing, and literally become national champion. Number 1, beating USA next generation of Olympic stars.

I mean it literally doesn't get evidence based in terms of impact.

I have been thinking of a solution and I think it's clear. If you want to transition to a different gender, of course its absolutely within your right, but you forgo your chance of elite level sport. Simple.

To be fair I’d give my right knacker if it meant I hadn’t endured 49 years of watching the useless twats. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I agree, it doesn’t matter how a person transitions, the Y chromosome, which triggers male development, remains in a person born male and is absent in a person born female so when it comes to competing in sports requiring strength, speed and/or stamina anyone born with the Y chromosome will have a distinct advantage over those born without it and in my opinion should only compete with people with the same sex chromosomes, XY (men) and XX (women).

What puzzles me about this case is that there's very little evidence of any transition.

I haven't really followed the story until this thread Smug, so I was speaking more generally. But looking at that podium picture you posted above, even in my most rampant days I wouldn't be queuing to buy her a drink :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Is she competing against midget’s or is she 9foot 6” inches tall, going back to what I said before, if they haven’t got the nerve to not compete against her it can’t be bothering them that much, so crack on I couldn’t care less anyway.

Good point, the other athletes need to make a stand and stop competing.

Line up or whatever they do in swimming then when the buzzer goes turn and walk away leaving her to compete alone. Do that at every meet and race until something is done about it.

I honestly believe 2 maybe 3 at the most would put an end to it, as long as they ignored the threats against them from the swimming authorities

It's a nice idea but the other swimmers shouldn't have to protest.

We've all accepted the totally honourable concept of tolerance and I think society is better for it.

I'm all for the acceptance of same sex couples, female clergy, women referees, et.

But if some bloke, with a cock and balls, walked naked into the female changing room of my granddaughter I'd identify myself as a clinically insane psychopath and break his nose.

Yes we all need to be tolerant but, as with all things, there are limits that need to be respected every bit as much as people's choices. I don't even believe it's possible to simply identify yourself as a woman if you're actually a man. I might want to identify myself as George Clooney, and sleep with his wife, but it's not possible despite us both being males of a similar age.

    Never mind, it's her loss.

The whole debate is a mine field. Anyone can be who they want to be. That's no ones business. However, there is another photo taken at the same time as the above picture, what looks to be like the swimmers that finished 2nd,3rd and 4th all stood posing on the 3rd place position away from Lia for a photo together. There's a very long way to go for stuff like this seemingly.

I agree, but it's us who are planting the mines.

It would be much clearer if people weren't twisting themselves to appear tolerant to whatever concept is thrown at them.

    Make it simple ...

... 'As far as completion is concerned, you are what you were born as.'

    Job done.

If you were born in the UK, with only British family, you can't identify yourself as French ...

... no matter how much you prefer their training gear.
