The stadium is permitted to host 17 full stadium events a year. A full season of NFL plus play off/pre-season games probably gets 12 up to a max of 15 sell-outs in one fell swoop. The likelihood of attracting that number of concerts/big fights/rugby matches/etc. every 12 months is probably fairly small and they aren't going to get the exposure that NFL will attract in terms of sponsorship.

Tottenham's future lies in the US, as much as it pains me to accept it.

That is also a risky strategy.

Firstly i cant ever see nfl expanding abroad with a foreign team. It wouldnt make sense for them.

Secondly germanys now vying for nfl attention. I heard they are hosting next year too

It's been a long-term NFL aim for some time to have at least 1 and possibly 2 European franchises...

    https://sportsnaut.com/nfl-london-team-unlikely/

A (partial) sale of the club to the right American interest might change things a bit, but if it's not going to happen soon, it'll be a real blow to ENIC. There's no doubt that they had a significant hope/expectation that it would come and the stadium was designed and built for a lot more than 2 games a year.

I just don't see it. Will players relocate and train in London? I don't see the majority of american players wanting to move to London.

Else if the home team is flying to London every other weekend to play their games that doesnt seem practical either.

Likewise, right now its because there are so few games in London, the brits fill out the stadium. I don't see that being a thing of they have their own team. We are talking about fans who already support a team in the nfl suddenly switching allegiances. If its anything like footie, im not expecting that to happen.

The terms of NFL players' contracts are centrally negotiated. At the last renewal, having to play abroad was included, because the Americans know that without expanding the appeal of the sport outside the US, it's going to fall behind proper football, further and further. Currently, they're dipping their toe in the water, but they've openly said that a London franchise is being actively considered and something that they'd want.

It looks as if a relocation of an existing franchise is currently very unlikely, but they can always create new franchises, as with the Houston Texans in 2002. It was hoped that Shahid Khan would agree to moving the Jacksonville Jaguars but he felll out with Levy over the intended purchase of Wembley, so that's definitely not happening. Maybe when the next franchise comes up for sale, it might be possible?

They'd need an even number, so a German franchise would actually help ENIC, rather than hinder things...but currently, it seems a ways off.

The Premier League have just announced the match official appointments for game week 27.
That's this Saturday, when we travel to Elland Road to face Leeds.
Who's the ref? Craig Pawson! <laugh> Genuinely couldn't make it up.

We've got 9 games left now.
Newcastle (H), Villa (A), Brighton (H), Brentford (A), Leicester (H), Liverpool (A), Burnley (H), Norwich (A) and the filth (H), which has yet to be rearranged.

Of those teams only Leicester, Liverpool and the Woolwich are in the top half.
Leicester could be playing the first leg of a Conference League semi-final before they play us, too.
Burnley and Norwich will almost certainly have nothing to play for, which can go both ways.
We need to make sure that the next four games keep us in contention for Europe.

The problem is simply that, in "season compass" terms :

    1. Spurs have to win 6 of those 9 games just to maintain the "like for like" ,
and one of them is an NLD which will probably be a "six pointer" .

    2. Of the 8 extra pts up fror grabs, one of those is against the Poool
(who will have to win) .

8 wins and 1 loss (to finish with 75 pts - which still may not be enough) ??
Cannot see that happening (even with the greatest rcl performance ever) .

I don't think that we've got much of a chance of catching Arsenal, despite their fixtures.
That mainly leaves us needing to stay ahead of Wolves and West Ham to stay in the top 6.
Palace winning the FA Cup could take a European place, of course, but it'll be tough for them.
