So were Zelensky's comments earlier today about not wanting to join NATO and open to talking about the future of the Donbas a sign that maybe behind the scenes Russia and Ukraine have already accepted an end of war scenario? Maybe just ironing out the creases now.

Russia calls off the invasion in exchange for Zelensky guaranteeing to not join NATO and giving Putin the Eastern part of the country?

Putin gets to call his failed takeover a success, and Zelensky manages to not be murdered and Ukraine's government replaced with a pro Kremlin puppet outfit.

Won't happen.

I don't give a shhite when it ended, there is a lack of balls round this place mate.

Anyway, Poland sending their Migs to Germany where they will be at the disposal of the Ukraine (from a US base I think). A reporter asked a military advisor how the Russians will take this, the response, they can take it anyway they like...now that's the sort of fighting talk we need. He went on to say, if the Russians have a problem over it, take up with the United States. :emoticon-0165-muscl

NATO should put Ukraine marking on all fighting aircraft, with pilots in Ukraine uniforms (volunteers of course) and blast Russia out of the skies and take out that annoying 40 mile column of tanks

The more I think about those tanks the more it seems like a tethered goat to lure a Tiger in for a kill, they are not doing anything but asking for an airstrike

Of course if that airstrike was carried out by Ukrainians in Ukrainian planes, nothing Putin could do about it

Putin is taking the piss out of us mate. He just needs a little slap, he'll soon see sense, if he don't bullet straight to the head would sort it.

But more seriously, we need to reverse these psychological games, and start giving him some back. Think about it, what sort of man rides around on a horse without a shirt on, that's Newcastle style bants, and they can't even live without tomato ketchup.

I never knew Ed Sherrin was a Geordie

Certainly time to call Putin's bluff, he's had too many narratives going his way, time for them Jets to start showering them with a few of those rose petals, he thought his boots were going to get.

The only negotiations I'd be having with Putin is for everyone of his boots to leave, until then it would be fook you.

Us oldies are dangerous ****ers if left to our own devices

When I started school our heroes were Teachers and Cops who fought in the war

Today's heroes are wimps who request jazz hand because clapping affects their "Mental Health"

Putin has been allowed to get away with his rhetoric for too long since this invasion, time for the boys from Ukraine to give him a slapping. Afterall, if he wants to go full tonto on Europe, I look at it like this, he may well destroy us, but we can also ensure that a future world is minus a Russian threat on this planet.

Not sure I'd agree that's the problem mind. :cheesy:

I think the real problem, if it is a problem is a large part of Europe hasn't known war for nigh on 80 years, so people just accept todays norms, and forget that the democracy and peace they have got use to came at a big price. We have also had no compulsory military service in the UK in my lifetime.

War changes a person, it's always been a concern of mine with male refugee's from war torn countries, does the ingrain violence come with them, and how are we going to support that, so it doesn't play out on the streets.

America are just a different kettle of fish, making a right mess of everything they get involved in, again because war doesn't happen on their doorstep, it's only in recent decades that they have been rocked by domestic terrorism. The Boston bomber being one of the more recent ones to mind.

So now when we mention conflict, people prefer to wave the white flag, for fear of being annihilated, and it's that fear that Putin is tuning into on Western minds, and we need to quickly change the psychology of those narratives, before it becomes our own enemy.

The Swedes are also sending some IKEA flat pack fighters ... given that they will be assembled in Ukraine, Putin will be impotent to object ... my greatest fear is that once fully assembled there will still be a couple of rivets and screws left over ... always happens when I shop there... and you just have to hope that they don't belong to a very important bit ... <cheers>

Putin threw the nuke shell into the mix, only **** to do so.
Easy solution, strike first with a limited tactical nuke and destroy his HQ, 30mtr table and him. Who is going to escalate that in his absence?

One small missile and the job is done, thousands of lives saved and the world a safer place.

You have this completely the wrong way round imo; a generation not experiencing war (did you, btw?) is not a problem, it's a blessing. War is the problem. After 4,000 years, and since the invention of weapons capable of wiping out the entire ****ing planet you'd hope humanity would have found a better way of resolving differences between people.

I’m starting to believe that Ukraine may not lose this war. Lose in a way where they no longer exist lose as the loss of life can’t ever be seen as a win
