I’m going through the thread now. Apparently we are a joke of a club for having empty seats

Do they fill their dodgy ill-gotten taxpayer funded stadium every single match then? Helps when you are in the biggest city in Europe (yes I know there are loads of clubs there but still)

And with a link to the comment about player appearances - they seem to knock Broja’s (Albanian Jimmy Hill). I read the last page first
Actually they do (fill). I thought 28k @ £15 was pretty poor show from us.

Unfortunately it was Diallo who gave the ball away in the first place though. He was sloppy as all hell last night. Some of his passing was woeful, and he still seems to need too much time on the ball. I also feel he isn't strong enough. He gets shoved off the ball or pulls out of challenges that Romeu would absolutely relish.

That said, he grew into the game as it went on, so I guess we can put it down to 'rust'. And he has shown promising signs in games before; his dribbling and ball-carrying are both really good, and he can pick a pass. He's just very hot-and-cold. One great pass, followed by one howler, etc.
Yes Che, agree on your key observations; sloppy, slow, weak. Probably/ possibly rust? Has played much better & yes, it was his loss & “recovery” booking. Still he was better than Moussa!

I don't think it was that bad. Midweek and on free-to-air TV will persuade some (like me) to stay home and watch, especially with the risk of ET and pens.

I think the evening/mid-week issue will also have put off parents with school-age children, especially as the match was on BBC (Red Button). Has any decision been made about the day of the week for the quarter finals?

No, that won't happen until A) the draw has been made and B) all 5th round ties have been played. The round has been scheduled for the weekend of the 19th and 20th March but I suspect there will be at least one evening game on either the Friday or Monday.

We won, so I don't want to grumble too much, and therefore I will not discuss Djenepo's performance, haha.

Being positive, I thought Jack Stephens was fantastic. Not only solid, but presumably he has to help Valery an awful lot regarding positioning and so on.

But what are we gonna do without Broja next season?! We're losing our star player for free.

Yes only on for 45mins & made a significant impact on & off the ball. Enjoy whilst we can. Maybe we can provide him with a bit of silverware, which might sway his personal demands?

Edit; and what a delicious goal! For a big guy, he’s very nimble.

Just seen Ralph interview on BBC website....said that he has noticed a difference in the fans now as they still believe even when things aren't going our way. He's not wrong....I no longer give up if we are 1-0 down as I have confidence that we can score in any game.

Are you selling your sofa, now there's no need to hide behind it?

I obviously hope we don't lose him but if we do, i have full confidence that the new ownership will invest to replace him. Having a striker that not only guarantees goals, but gives the whole team and fanbase a lift, has been a big part of our lofty league and cup exploits. Sure, we're not going to head to Waitrose and spend £50M on a player, but i believe we will break our Poundland transfer strategy and head to Lidl, maybe even ASDA if we're lucky! For the right player i can see us pushing into the £20-30M bracket, and while this might not land us Broja, with the right scouting (which we have) it should take us to the level required to guarantee a 12-15 goal striker.
