Couple of notes from being there, why were WHU so bad? It was a bad move by WHU fans to call Andre Marinner a "****er", that was never going to help their cause. I, among virtually every other fan before the game said we didn't stand a chance, major egg on face all around. Valery had a blinder, Djenepo looked like some joker had tied his bootlaces together. What stopped Big Willie from catching the ball, he looked like he was getting an electric shock? Amazing result, I am totally confused.com.
Good point about Valery. One of the best players on the pitch. He scares the hell out of me at right back but looks a solid CB. Even held his own in one to one tussles with Antonio.
I went on the KUMB after the game and went to the last page (at the time). At least one poster was very annoyed about how their fans apparently constantly blame the ref. They said it was a penalty, the ref wasn’t at fault and that West Ham did plenty of snide shenanigans at the weekend so they couldn’t blame us for doing the same Quite refreshing really
I think it was that tackle that laid him out in the centre circle. He stayed on but was holding his back and not moving as well.
Yeah - to me it looked like he got clattered in the small of the back and the back of the neck as well. Landed hard
can’t blame people for being mean if they don’t know the lad has a condition. Not condoning it by any means but no point getting worked up about it.
Just read that the PA at halftime played, pussycat dolls, cool for cats and love cats! Is this true? please tell me it’s true.
Was chatting with my son about this on the way home. I think AA is actually ahead of Che at this stage - more mobile and more defensively aware.
Unfortunately it was Diallo who gave the ball away in the first place though. He was sloppy as all hell last night. Some of his passing was woeful, and he still seems to need too much time on the ball. I also feel he isn't strong enough. He gets shoved off the ball or pulls out of challenges that Romeu would absolutely relish. That said, he grew into the game as it went on, so I guess we can put it down to 'rust'. And he has shown promising signs in games before; his dribbling and ball-carrying are both really good, and he can pick a pass. He's just very hot-and-cold. One great pass, followed by one howler, etc.
I don't think anyone could have walked away from last night's game dissatisfied. I concede that West Ham were poor but for a supposed second string team, I felt we were excellent. Last season there was a lot of criticism about Valery not being good enough but the performances hwe has put in during the recent cup ties are suggestive to me that he is a quality player. I also thought that Armstrong worked tirelessly throughout the game. On top of that , Perraud was superb. All in all, an excellent game with Perraud's goal being the icing on the cake. . Given the depth in quality in the side and the way St Marys has been made in to a fortress this season. I think it is not at all unreasonable to make comparisons between Ralph and Lawrie.
What a great performance last night Can’t remember the last time Saints played fringe players and we played so well There’s a really great feeling across the squad That’s an awesome achievement from Ralph, the coaching team and the players After the first few minutes Spam were only dangerous from corners Valerie? Ralph’s done his development thing again and created a good CB from a dodgy RB
