If you open schools in this, then at least one school/LA is getting sued. Likely more than that. Plus it’s hard enough getting staff and kids even onto a site safely, then (like my school) you don’t have systems access because servers and internet is down (data centre is in B’Mouth but it’s been inaccessible most of the day). We’d be short 6 staff if we were open today and it’s a one form entry. That’s unsafe. Then road closures in the afternoon mean kids can’t get picked up and you have possible child protection issues from kids on site who can’t get home. I work at a Hampshire primary and it’s really frustrating but I get it.
The caretaker at my school just posted a video in the group of my new water play tower whipping across the playground and smashing into pieces. That cost us £350 at the end of last term.
This was my street and my car (under the roof of the neighbouring garage). The tree at the top is the second one that’s fallen in the immediate area. This is in Eastleigh. I’ve got my eye on the tree opposite my house right now as it’s a giant lump of **** and I reckon it’s likely to come down like the one in the first picture. My child is gleefully anticipating destruction. She’s a psychopath. Like all five year olds.
After Dudley (which has to be said in a West Midlands accent), and Eunice, the next storm will be F'in (enormous)
So do I , but it’s interesting that all this talk of Camilla being Queen makes the pessimist in me fear the worst .
Whilst I completely agree with your sentiments, this could be seen as a subtle way of pointing out to Boris that 'relaxing all Covid-related restrictions' may not be as good an idea as he thinks. Of course, the Royal Family would never stoop so low. The Royle family, maybe... Conspiracy theorist? Moi?
I walked through the parks, in the town centre today and spotted 3 trees that had been felled by the winds, with a fourth tree in the park with the cricket pitches being cut to pieces with a chainsaw. But an even sadder sight was seeing a section of the same park, near the traffic lights on the junction of New Rd and Above Bar St, cordoned off by police, with 3 police cars in attendance, following the sexual assault on a woman last night. Literally within a stone’s throw of the nearest bar/restaurants. Southampton is becoming a very sick place for assaults on women.
Looks like the next Reacher book has been selected for series 2, on Amazon Prime. Die Trying. My initial thought is that this wasn’t a favourite book for me, but hopefully it will look better on screen. https://www.small-screen.co.uk/reacher-season-2-adapt-lee-child-die-trying-book/
One thing I have noticed about getting older is there is a much wider range of women to admire. When I was a young man I remember mainly looking at young women. Now I'm getting on a bit I look at the older ones too.
