Nathan Wood isn't the best player, and I wish he wouldn't be the player trying to make the long pass forward because being on the ball is just not his game (happened far too much on Saturday). But he is the type of CB you need in this division. He's up for the fight and he does throw his body on the line. He's not the greatest player, he makes mistakes and can look clumsy, but whenever he's on the pitch I get the impression that he cares. Low bar, but like some others have said, while swearing at people in the crowd is clearly not directing his frustrations in the right way or the right place. at least it shows some passion and that he is hurting. I appreciate some people will feel differently about this but I'd rather that then a THB who blames everyone else all game long and then runs off the pitch and down the tunnel at FT. Wood had to apologise of course, and he can't let it happen again any time soon. But I see no reason to question that it was his prerogative to apologise. Again not everyone will agree, but his reaction at FT is the least of problems at the club and hopefully we can all just move on from it now the apology is out...although it really wouldn't surprise me if he is now the pantomime villain and get's booed with every touch...
The absolute howling clangers that THB delivered under Martins coaching should be enough for him to never want to see a pass out from the goalkeeper for the rest of his life never mind having Martin back for a second round.
