So anyway, a vulnerable adult in our house has tested positive (She's type 1 diabetic and unjabbed).

Mz Kempton is also unjabbed and has no thyroid due thyroid cancer.

Two others in the house are elderly, but jabbed.

i had it last month, also unjabbed, though not in a vulnerable category, other than age and a bit overweight (not obese, but bmi around 28-29).

had been taking plenty of vitamin d as i was expecting the infection.

two nights of feeling exhausted. inkling of sore throat, but took relevant treatment for that and it didn't happen. then 8-9 days of aching in lower back and legs,relieved somewhat by painkillers.

certainly omicron version 1.

if that's any use, as everyone gets a different selection of symptoms.

got antibodies.

youtube vids from dr john campbell looked at california study (during delta) found that infected+unvaxed gave much the same protection as infected+vaxed, both better than uninfected+vaxed. boosters appear to be giving shorter-lived protection each time. possible that natural immunity may last far longer.

i posted about vit-d on here a few weeks ago. rda far too low, i'm taking ten times as much (85micrograms). possible overdose problems not likely until at least twice my 85.

I knew I was getting something Monday but took until Wednesday before my morning test was positive. Then had 18 hours of horrendous shivers alternating with fever and a banging headache, now have a heavy cold, so able to work from home today. That 18 hours was bloody awful, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Had my 2 vaccines and booster and have no idea whether they're helping, but I'll trust that they are. Stay safe out there folks.

The Queen has tested positive for Covid, Buckingham Palace has said.

The monarch is experiencing "mild cold-like symptoms" but expects to continue "light duties" at Windsor over the coming week, the palace said.

"She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines," it added in a statement.

The Queen, 95, had been in contact with her eldest son and heir, the Prince of Wales, who tested positive last week.

It is understood a number of people have tested positive at Windsor Castle, where the Queen resides.

Maybe things back home are getting back to normal, and here to a large degree they are also, However, I was told because of changes in regulations, I could not renew my visa here as normal, I have to leave to country and come back in the middle of March when foreigners are being allowed to enter Vietnam.

So I decided to go into Cambodia, which is a 3 hour bus ride to the border. I booked a seat from Saigon to Phnom Penh. Firstly I took a 3 hour bus trip to Saigon, then a taxi to the bus company who were going to Cambodia. On arrival, I was told I could get a visa at the border but first had to have a COVID test. I went to the nearest Medi care centre, got that done and arrived back at the bus company. I was then told they didn't do visa's at the border anymore, so I needed to go to the Cambodian embassy to obtain one there. So off I go again, get there, said if I took a COVID test and paid an extra fee I could take it within an hour.

So I took another COVID test, finally got my visa and hot footed it back to the bus company. By this time it was already 15 minutes past the departure time, but luckily they waited. So off we went on a 3 hour bus ride to the border. We arrived and told we had to have a COVID test before we left the country, in addition I was told I had to pay $200 penalty because my VISA has expired by 5 days. So after the 3rd COVID test, paid my $200 and passed through to the Cambodia side.

Yes you guess it, they said we had to take a COVID test, so by now my eye felt it had been attacked from the inside, so had the 4th COVID test. Finally, we left the border and 5 hours later arrived in Phnom Penh.

Safe to say for the moment I don't have COVID, but rather light in the pocket.
