More Covid cases in UK now than at any time in the previous 2 years. Sounds like you've had it mild John and hopefully you'll be on the move soon. Good luck!
I think the notion of avoiding it has long gone, we'll all get it at some time, just like a cold. I just hope the jabs do what they're supposed to. I got it a month or so ago, same symptoms as yours, no big deal just a nuisance.
I'm sure that being tripled jabbed had a marked effect on how severe I got the virus, it was no more than a normal winter cold. What baffles me is that I have had no loss of taste or smell and at no time a temperature. Every time I came into the hotel they have a temperature sensor which tells your temperature and issues a dose of hand spray, and at all times my temperature was normal. Very strange.
Somebody in here mentioned you could have it just by being very tired for a few weeks a few months ago
Yep, six poor souls lost their lives due to Astra Zeneca according to that article, and they all clearly felt they were ‘doing their bit’ whilst protecting themselves. Totally tragic!
We’ve had 9 down with it at our place again over this week including 2 for the second time by all accounts. Just sinking a few at my local tonight and the landlord reckons 3 of the staff have had it this week and he’s not sure he’ll be able to make tomorrow’s game with Luton now. Sigh…
U.K. deaths where vaccination was believed to a contributing factor - 79. U.K. deaths where COVID was listed on the death certificate as a contributing factor - 185,273. U.K deaths where taking Aspirin was believed to be a contributing factor - 3,000 per year. U.K. deaths where excessive alcohol consumption was the primary cause (2020) - 8,974. They’re all tragic, but best viewed in context.
How can we work out how many didn’t die of a vaccine in 1919 when there wasn’t a vaccine? Is that what you’re asking me? It doesn’t really matter about 1919, in 2022 we have a working vaccine that offers people better immunity than if they didn’t take it. If a tiny fraction of people have a reaction to it, that’s a shame, but it’s absolutely dwarfed by a ridiculous amount that have had no reaction. The odds of dying to the vaccine must be, minimum, millions to one.
I just checked. 11bn doses given world wide. Even if the number of U.K. deaths from vaccine taking was the same world wide, which it isn’t, that gives you a 0.00013295454% chance of death by vaccine. Pretty sure the death chance from Covid is much, much higher. In fact, pretty sure you’re more likely to be hit by a satellite falling out of orbit than you are dying from the Covid vaccine.
0.86% of total work population is the total deaths where COVID is mentioned. ONS data recently said % of UK deaths, with no serious co morbidities, is very low. Data can be used for and against in so many ways. Try and look at views that don't necessarily align with yours to get a more rounded view. Easy to sit in our tribes and judge without some understanding of others. The divide and conquer ploy has been used with great success in the whole COVID period.
I haven't dismissed anybody. Using a ridiculously tiny fraction as justification for not doing something that billions have done just seems odd. All medical procedures carry a risk, vaccination is no different. Whether they needed to have it or not is a different issue. Medically, you're better off with a vaccine than without it. Personally, it's down to the individual.
