Ferens
Had a town walk with wife today she needed some fresh air - very fresh. Called in Ferens , some great changed paintings , Georgian selection plus on the first floor gallery a really good selection of Maritime artists - my favourite . Alison offer for £5 reduced from £30 quality book of the Victorian to Edwardian painting stock at Ferens 350 pages worth of detail and pics - well worth a visit

Thanks for that Springer, I've got a week off, so I'll definitely be having a look.

It's a shame the Maritime Museum's still closed (I think?), that and Ferens was always a good half day, lunch at Minerva then a ferret around the old town before dinner. A good day out!

Things are on the move, demolition of the BHS/Co-op building is starting, the consultation period for new houses on the Rank's Mill site is ending anon, and Mr Hugo is to open a new outlet in Hammonds of Hull, this time it's American bbq food. :emoticon-0100-smile

Yeah it’s still being worked on
Don’t think it’s planned to reopen before 2024, but should be some great stuff then including the Arctic Corsair in its new home

Me mam was a dinner lady and was always home in time to make tea.
My mam was a housewife. From the day she married my dad she cooked a dinner, meat and 2 veg, every day, on the table at 1215, for when my dad came back from work. She'd then cook tea, on the table at 1800 for my dad back from work again. He'd then go out to play snooker until 2300. They'd go out together on Saturday nights, he'd play snooker with his mates she'd sit with his mates wives. That was their life for nigh on 25 years.
It was all they knew, they thought that was how it was. It wasn't until us kids left home and my dad retired that she realised she could have a life. My dad didn't know what hit him! After my dad died my mam just built a completely new life for herself, travel, friends, going out, all normal stuff.

Phew, not sure where all that came from, sorry chaps...
