Then Jermaine Defoe afterwards
Then Jermaine Defoe afterwards
Short interview with KLD but from my recollection
- Johnson dismissal not just one result but a culmination of things
- Prioritised transfer window over appointing manager
- Manager hunt started early this morning
- Huge interest from all over the world
- Will take time to appoint right person
- Defoe joining as player only but will be an influence on other players
Isn't there a process to go through these days, you can't just appoint a new manager straight away. For example there has to be at least one candidate of colour interviewed.Well that answers my question "did we already have a manager lined up" then.

Am I allowed to say that? No offence meant to anyone if I've said something wrong.
We may well have a specific candidate in mind but we have to follow rules is perhaps the way I should have phrased it.
I think that we will have a list of people that we would be interested in, which will be kept under review.Probably, and maybe we have got one lined up already, good point.
Only if one applies for the job, surely?Isn't there a process to go through these days, you can't just appoint a new manager straight away. For example there has to be at least one candidate of colour interviewed.

and avoid a constructive dismissal case from Johnson….. just in case
If true, it’s utterly ridiculous! Surely enforcing this is almost back handed racism?Isn't there a process to go through these days, you can't just appoint a new manager straight away. For example there has to be at least one candidate of colour interviewed.

If Sol Campbell is the only person of colour to apply, we have to interview him despite the fact that, if he was appointed as manager, he’d be almost as hated as someone like Shearer from minute 1?
