Not sure a lack of alternatives should be the reason we keep him. There will undoubtedly be a long list of managers interested in the job if he DOES go. My guess would be a foreign name from Bundesliga 2 that none of us have heard of. That seems to be the model for so many clubs these days
God no, results like this are indefensible, just curious who people think, would have liked Farke personally when he left Norwich but think he’s back in management now

I'm sure there are managers out there mate, there has to be. Even, as someone alluded to, Big Sam and we offer him a decent contract for the 6 months with a big juicy bonus IF he gets us up.

It's times like that where the backroom staff who are paid to find the right one, show why they are employed to do that job.
Like Warne at Rotherham but not sure if he’s just at the right club similar to dyce at burnley and may not fair as well elsewhere, also why leave Rotherham for us when the automatics is looking more and more likely for them

The team should always have a list of suitable managers in place, just as they do for players.

I don’t know who we’d go for, but I think a change is needed.
Agreed, how many times do we need to ‘bounce back’ losing here and there I can accept getting battered by mid table newly promoted sides is a disgrace

It’s a real shame because when we’re at it I think he’s cracked it and we’re good to watch.

I guess we were warned about losing streaks from his former clubs fans.

I don’t think he’ll be going anywhere anytime soon though.

Yeah. Plan was always the season. We will still win against dross at home to tick us to play offs unfortunately.

If it was me making it. He would be gone now.
I know Gus wanted control of transfers but he's out of work, surely he could see what a great job the recruitment team are doing with the quality of players they are bringing in, they would also suit his style of play and I'm sure he would have some input into the final say

Yeah I think he’ll get the season, even if we limp over the line i’d like to think it’s thank you and goodbye

It's unfortunately looking like a quiet end to the transfer window for us
It does look that way. I am sure we can sign Defoe outside of the window but the point is if he decided against the move we’d be fked with the window closing. I am really happy with the recruitment strategy but we are getting bullied in games especially in midfield.

I agree with this completely and the bad runs we’ve had at the end of last season and middle of this one should mean that the list is being explored so that decisions made aren’t knee jerk ones.
This whole system of ours should allow for the change of manager without too much disruption and a new manager should come in and be able to hit the ground running as the players and style we’re trying to play as a club shouldn’t need to change.

Big day today transfer wise. Not heard anything. Need a second striker, maybe also a third urgently if AOB goes, and a second left back. I’m in 2 minds on the midfielder - I’d like to replace Evans for less injured fitter version but if we get another without losing a player we may have too many. Maybe an under 23 on the way up.

If we don't sign a decent central midfielder and make do with what we've got, then we have to have Evans and Winchester as defensive midfielders to protect our pathetic defence. One of them plus Neil is not enough.

Personally, apart from the striker, I would make my first priority a Defensive Coach. We have the players, but the set up is not right.

We’ll probably win comfortably on Saturday but it would really just paper over cracks.
He needs to win the next 5, and comfortably to have a chance of quietening some people down. Even then it's Wigan and Charlton away after that. Another couple of humpings and they may get shot of him. Especially if some of the players arent happy with him as has been mentioned.

Another drubbing will come as well because we’ve already seen a few.

Doesn’t bode well for Johnson but I think it’s generally expected that he’ll be given the full season anyway.

I think he will see it out as well tbh. Playoffs (gulp!) Is pretty much guaranteed so we will be in with a chance right to the end.

Who are the realistic replacements for him? I'm not saying this to have a go at those wanting him out but I honestly have no idea who would be a good replacement. I've seen Warnock and Keane talked about but can't see Warnock fitting the profile. The Forest Green Rovers gaffer was mentioned over the road bit I can't see that going down well with the majority of fans. Critchley at Blackpool was mentioned before LJ I think but Blackpool look to be staying up. I couldn't honestly say what the playing style is of the vast majority of sides in and around this level, I don't see enough of them to be able to comment.
