It should be your favourite program Chazz "Survivor Turkey".It happens
They fly low over the lochs and glens further North. It's a spectacular sight watching fighter aircraft over these lochs flying right at you.I remember my wife driving through Glencoe as we were returning from Skye some years ago.I heard this unbelievable noise, thought it was something seriously wrong with the car, screamed at the wife to pull over and witnessed 2 Tornado's screeching over us as low as I've ever seen...I don't know if it's still the same, but some areas of the UK allowed military aircraft to fly lower than many other Countries in certain situations, so we were the main place for low level training over land.

I always suspect the badge on the plane was a photoshop?
(can you see if it's for real Dutch)

Thank god for that, looked like he was short of the runway, I was a little bit sick in my mouth. Hope he never decides to get a ****ing helicopter or I’ll need therapy sessions! The Eagle Has Landed![]()
I had a similar experience many moons ago on the M6 a couple of miles south of Tebay services when the plane was virtually level with the road. Thought my exhaust had fallen off or something. me & the missus were on the shore of Loch Ness when one flew low level over us, nearly deafened usThey fly low over the lochs and glens further North. It's a spectacular sight watching fighter aircraft over these lochs flying right at you.I remember my wife driving through Glencoe as we were returning from Skye some years ago.I heard this unbelievable noise, thought it was something seriously wrong with the car, screamed at the wife to pull over and witnessed 2 Tornado's screeching over us as low as I've ever seen...
There's a degree of error in those plane tracking websites, plus the pilots can turn off the responders too. Had something military fly over the house last week, looked it up and it seemed to be doing some low-level flying past York and at one time according to the data it should have been underground. It popped up again a few minutes later. You get a feel for it if you look at them regularly - if they're headed for or near an airport and then they've landed and possibly under a hangar causing the GPS locator to bounce around. Otherwise it's just the pilot ****ing with you.Thank god for that, looked like he was short of the runway, I was a little bit sick in my mouth. That's it precisely!! (Though you describe it much better than I).I saw a couple of typhoons flying over St Andrews bay last summer...awesome.I had a similar experience many moons ago on the M6 a couple of miles south of Tebay services when the plane was virtually level with the road. Also remember a fantastically peaceful picnic by Loch Tay being interupted by a couple of jets. The impressive thing is that they are going so fast you have no warning they are on their way, no hearing the rumble in the distance. Just boom, wtf!
We have helicopter training base not that far from us and the Apache gunships had a dedicated route and hover points. They would hide near the junction of the A34 / A303 and seem to pop up right in front of you as you drove along. They are quite scary, when the point at you.I had a similar experience many moons ago on the M6 a couple of miles south of Tebay services when the plane was virtually level with the road.
