I’d wait until Summer before deciding. He was quite inconsistent at the start, I’d like to see him doing it on a more consistent basis before we signed him permanently.
Id get him now if the price was right.
Most players are inconsistent at the start of a new club.
He's definitely found his feet now.
Sadly, I don't think Brighton will let him go yet.

Agreed, he's starting to come good, but it needs to be over a longer period of time
8 goals and assists in last 14 games, don't think covid and injury helped his start. He was fantastic against Scunny in pre season when I watched him was expecting him to start against Preston and then Covid hit. Musn't forget he's technically playing out of position too, believe he was predominantly used in a 2 up top at Wimbledon last season.

That's why I'm not convinced he'd be worth it at the moment.

He's certainly improved, much like Williams has, but it's only been in the last few weeks he's turned it on. If we shelled out what would be an inflated asking price now, and he didn't turn out to be consistent enough, it's money down the drain. We've got him for the season barring any recall issues, so we don't have to rush

If he gets to the end of the season and he's had a great one, then it's six months off his contract. Yes, other clubs might be interested or he might get into Brighton's team, but if he doesn't make the grade over the course of a season, we can at least send him back with no strings attached.

Oh he's doing really well atm, he just needs to keep doing it.

I'd buy him, you wouldn't, fair enough

He was pretty good back in November too. COVID certainly hasn't helped.

Realistically, signing him would be a no-brainer. Getting him out of Brighton would be the issue and the longer he performs for us, the harder that will be.

I'm not so sure that would be a major issue. He's been great for us in this run but he's not at the level yet where he walks into any championship side, I think he'd struggle for game time at most the top 4/6 clubs. He is still inconsistent and his decision making isn't always the greatest. He does have some very good raw attributes but he's 21 now so he's not mega young and he's probably at least a couple of years off being ready for the PL. Brighton are also a very good PL side, so breaking through there is extremely tough.

He does what he's doing between now and May? There'll be zeros on his price tag by then.

Maybe so, but it's unlikely that a young player keeps going at the same high level constantly. We've seen it with all our other young players, they drop off and have difficult spells and ideally need time out the side.

Which is why we rejected 8m for KLP in the summer and rejected 15m for KLP a fortnight ago.

Think it was more like 12m with add ons but the point its intended to illustrate re: Longman stands.

I don't think he's on the same level as KLP though. To really get the most out of Keano he needs better players around him to push his development.

Re Longman, I really like him but I also think he's replaceable too. It's going to be interesting to see how it pans out
