    If this does happen it’s a distraction…

Some people Re obsessed about a 39 year old joining man.

Everyone has had their say now on JD so it's a case of seeing what happens.
I think his professionalism and presence would inspire our younger players and add that experience and extra goals we need.

If we don't sign JD we need another striker as its the playoffs I fear.

Yep...I fully agree Tony. However, my point being, we, the Club, made official enquiries about Defoe (those above LJ)

We then get wind that Defoe wants to come here, and that money (over Oxford's purse strings) should not enter an argument.

We have also had wind that KLD et al, gave the green light to sign him.

We also have a recruitment team who have not advised against this possible appointment.

We then listen to LJ who has shown he's not in 100% in favour (which is fine)

Yes we desperately need another CF....and a quality CM.....but my suggestion to get that CM in, and two CF's, including Defoe, should not be a problem, considering Defoe wants to come.

....and let's just say Defoe is only played as an impact sub....then I say still get him in.

A distraction?....well to be fair, this would happen behind the scenes Tony.

...in other woeds, it wouldn't be a distraction to todays match, or future matches.

I think he means the fans chanting his name during the match could be a distraction.

A few people saying Defoe is due back up for talks on Monday.

Seems it’s not dead in the water just yet.

Can't see our players on the pitch being put off their game at all. It Will embarrassed LJ if he is the blocker.

Reidy, for all the brilliant things he did for us, was also like that, stubborn as hell - sometimes to the detriment of the team - it could make LJ be more against the deal.

Aye mate....but all I'm saying is the crowd will still sing his name regardless of our opinions of distractions.

Whatever I think, or you, or anyone else.....the crowd is king !

The crowd WILL always protest.....the crowd will always voice it's passions......good or bad, !we always have done marra

Maybe, although I think the papers could’ve just been wide of the mark with the ‘Johnson doesn’t want him’ stuff.

Yep. Literally the only article reporting that even said “Johnson hadn’t made his mind up yet”. It was click bait

They’ve taken his comments in that press conference and ran with them.

He never said he didn’t want him, just broke the transfer down to explain all the criteria that it needs to meet.

Oxford have apparently made a bigger offer than us as well so we’ll see what happens next week I guess.

The difference there is they are expecting Ronaldo to perform in the same league and same level as the last time he was there. With Defoe he will be performing at a much lower level, as for his fitness, Wyke was one of the top scores in this league last season and I'm sure Defoe could still give him a 20m head start over 100m

I don’t know who Chris Hutchinson is, but he’s a bare faced liar.
