I'm not sure his wage will be that high, as they had fee and wage limits imposed by the EFL when they signed him, but he's still training with them and will probably still be expecting his extension to be sorted before the end of the window.

If they are in that much of a mess, getting Curtis back should be the preferred option!

Grant has said 2 players have been at the training ground this week to meet the players and he’s also had discussions with a PL striker but that one depends on the parent club getting one in.

Sounds promising and I may well be a little slow on the uptake here, but I would assume this would be with the blessing of the new owners? Yet GM has said repeatedly that he has not met the new owner - and I assume from that he also meant Tan Kesler? Who is sanctioning these potential signings? I know GM said Ehab told him it's business as usual, but I can't see this being the case. It may be due to my jitters waiting on the EFL's go ahead for the club to announce the new ownership, but if it drags on or dare I say it 'fails', then this begins to look all a little bit messy. I may well be missing something! (cue jokes).

It does all sound a bit odd. You could dream up all sorts of scenarios around players requiring a fee being lined up pending the takeover, players who are on a free being lined up should the takeover fail. One could be really naughty and say the Allams know it'll fail, and when it does they'll use some of Ilicani's deposit to repay the loan, buy a couple of players as a token gesture and then carry on as normal! :emoticon-0105-wink:

All a bit vague isn't it? I am sure GM said in the interview that he had spoken to the PL striker. Apparently, his club are waiting to bring one in before he'll be released to us. That's how I heard it!
Well there are PL strikers and there are PL strikers. If another club is waiting to bring in another PL striker to replace a supposed PL striker, you can more or less guarantee that the PL striker in which we are interested is not considered a PL striker by the club prepared to sell him... or something like that...

Or it's a younger player and they need game time but can't move till their club has numbers in and could possibly have the same impact as Wilson and Campbel did...
