Imagine Newcastle coming to St Marys in late April knowing a defeat relegates them... Salisu with the only goal of the game
This, this thiiiiiss. We were at the point where the youth players we were drafting in were also getting injured and suspended. Nobody has it nearly that bad at the moment and are just playing the system so they get as much rest/their best players back/desperately waiting for January to splurge. We have players out and what are we doing? Making the most of our squad, even though the quality of depth is shocking compared to a lot of teams that won’t stop moaning. Absolutely no sympathy. Get on with it play a few of your squad and youth players.
Chelsea v Brighton got to the 35th minute and I went looking for the lineups to see if Lallana was on the bench AND then I saw him in midfield. He has touched the ball a few times since then.
I'm really enjoying this Chelsea - Brighton game. End to end. Reminds me of our game there in the League Cup.
Presumably the risk of further postponements will only increase after this weekend, once certain players depart for at least two rounds of matches im order to play in the AFCON. By my reckoning, those players will be: Traore (Villa) Keita (Liverpool) Mendy (Chelsea) Kouyate (Palace) Mendy (Leicester) Mane (Liverpool) Sarr (Watford) Auba (Arsenal) Amartey (Leicester) Partey (Arsenal) Ayew (Palace) Saiss (Wolves) Masina (Watford) Elneny (Arsenal) Trezeguet (Villa) Salah (Liverpool) Troost-Ekong (Watford) Iwobi (Everton) Ndidi (Leicester) Onyeka (Brentford) Iheanacho (Leicester) Dennis (Watford) Mahrez (Man City) Benrahma (West Ham) Bailly (Man Utd) Cornet (Burnley) Boly (Wolves) Pepe (Arsenal) Zaha (Palace) Djenepo (Saints) Bissouma (Brighton) I think that's every side except for Spurs, Newcastle, Norwich and Leeds? With Leicester and Watford seemingly hit the hardest. Leicester are due to play Burnley (a) and Brighton (h), plus a potential rearranged fixture. Watford are due to play Newcastle (a) and Norwich (h), plus a potential rearranged fixture. From our point of view, Wolves being two CBs down would be no bad thing.
