I'm watching a rerun of Man Utd v Arsenal from 2003-4 and Bergkamp is playing. His cheating to rob Leicester in an FA Cup Semi still makes me seethe. Thierry Henry is playing upfront alongside him. His cheating to rob Ireland of a place in a major tournament still makes me seethe. Common denominator = Arsenal. Ironically, MUFC fans 15 mins into the re-run I'm watching .... 'same old Arsenal, always cheating' ..is factually correct.
Arsenal v City PL, second season ? When that Arsenal twat thumped the ball in to our net and Mark Clutterbrook allowed it. Then 'retired' after the game only to come out of retirement a fortnight later when all the fuss had died down. In the same game he also' missed' one of the Arsenal cheating twats pulling back or fouling that little bloke, winger, we got on loan ( I'm not good with names) when he was through on goal. Blatant professional foul. Again v Arsenal FA Cup rd 6 at their place. 1-1 with minutes to go and they dive on the edge of our box to get a free kick. Arse player stands behind the wall, a good two or three yards offside, blocking Myhill's view, ball chipped over and the pratt heads it into the net. Goal. Arsenal again, 1930 v Hull City FA Cup semi final, Villa Park, 1-0 to them and the 'goal' was a foot over the bye line before it was crossed. I wasn't there but I know it was true. I hate Arsenal, me.
I was at those games the referees were dreadful. We saw some dreadful decisions which went against us! The penalty given by Bennett for the handball by Ashley Young Villa at home then overturned by dubious means in the last minute! Another dreadful decision was Michael Oliver in the away game with Spurs, gave penalty for handball by Elmo when his hands were down by his side both games lost 1 nil. I Watched the Arsenal game last night with West Ham. Martinelle is off the pitch by the Arsenal dugout with cramp! Arteta drags him onto the pitch to stop the game. Same old Arsenal always cheating as they say. Billy B Paperboy
What about West Ham away, 2nd season in the PL. We played them off the field. Hit the woodwork three times. Then one of theirs throws himself to the ground tripping over Huddlestones shadow, no contact at all and of course the ref couldn't point to the spot quick enough. Believe we still hold the record for the most penalties given against us in the PL.
the fact the equaliser in the cup final was never even a corner, maybe not their fault but still the one that rankles me the most.
yep and Colin ****er was the only pundit who got mad about it and highlighted it after the game, one reason i go easy on him
I wonder what difference VAR would have made to those decisions. Even that system isn’t fool proof. Some of the refereeing in the Championship is below an acceptable standard, unfortunately we have to put up with it. Referees are assessed in each game but I doubt they are sidelined, unless they are constantly seen to be making mistakes. Billy B Paperboy
That Villa home game also had a disallowed Barmby goal for a 'foul' on Brad Friedel I think it was, their keeper anyway. What actually happened was Friedel climbed all over Barmby to try and get the ball but failed. Barmby did absolutely nothing.
Lee Probert...FA Cup Final Lee Probert.... City at Blackburn sent off Boateng for no reason. Charlton under Alan Pardew. QPR under John Gregory.
That offside goal in the FA Cup was so bad. Myhil came out to punch it go nowhere near it was flicked on by one of their players to another lad who was about 5 yards offside. Ref said myhil got the last touch. One of their fans started getting 20 quid notes out and showing it to us pike we'd never seen that much cash before. I wouldn't mind but it was about 100 quid the dopey ****. Probably lived in a rented bedsit above a curry house. Horrible club and horrible self entitled fans.
My Dear Dad was there at Match in 1930 and he told me the story, he said it was definitely over the line.
Swansea v City away, when Swansea had to win to stay in the FL, step forward referee Scott Mathieson aka bottling little ****!
Whilst using the DLR from our hotel to the centre of London for some pre-final drinkypoos, I was astounded by how many fans whether they were Charlton, Millwall, West Ham, Tottenham, Chelsea, Brentford or whoever, all said they hoped we stuck it up them c****! When I asked one of them why they all hated Arsenal, he said exactly this "Horrible club and horrible self entitled fans" They really are truly despised all over the country. Their fans genuinely do think it's because everyone else is jealous. It came as a massive shock when I told one of them it was because they are ****ers.
Liverpool away first prem season. City winning 2-0. Dirk Kuyt( or is it C**t ) launched Michael Turner into the net at the Kop end and goal allowed. If the net hadn’t been their Turner would of ended up in the Mersey..,
