Undoubtedly many NE MPs are caught by what the phenomenon in the USA is called the Republican base. That is an appalling bunch of white racist, automatic weapon carrying voters that you cannot alienate if you want to be elected.
Similarly NE MPs, whether red or blue cannot antagonise skunk voters if they want elected. So just like their craven counterparts in the USA, they dare not speak out about the vile (Trump) Saudi owners of the geordie nations football club.
Unfortunately MPs also have no morals and think nothing of absolutely reeking the place out with hypocrisy when they do a complete u-turn just to keep the mags happy. Government, I'm not sure I would want to get off that gravy train either .
