Just remember we lost to Brighton at home last season. Currently 7 points better off than last seasons corresponding fixtures.
I suppose if JWP knew Alex was hurt, it might explain why he suddenly rushed back to help him. Yes, as it turned out it was a bad move, but it could have proved otherwise.

What a monumental ****up that was to witness! RH tactically let us down again. No, am not saying he should be sacked, but he needs to get this sorted out by bringing in someone to advise him what to do. So late in the substitutions and continued with two strikers when strengthening the midfield was needed and the game management in injury time was non-existent. More points dropped...

Blaming players publicly not really a good look for a manager
The save part is nonsense. But if McCarthy knew and didn’t signal then that is ridiculous from him.
The manager takes responsibility for the failures in his command. In life not just in football.

What stands out to me in my completely uneducated opinion is that the players really lack intelligence on the pitch.
Coasting along from about 70 mins until Brighton went down to 10.
But even though technically it was an advantage to us, the players lack the ability to adjust their play in any way to the on pitch situation, we just kept hiking the ball up and losing possession and bizarrely Brighton started getting overlaps on the right, despite having less players.
Add in the stupidest fouls in the world and having the general mental fortitude of candy floss and it’s hard to see how any manager could even get this team to function on the pitch - it must be so hard to teach them anything at all and you certainly can’t depend on them to adjust to events under their own steam, it must have to be spelled out for them completely.
