Reminds of the mid sixties when we returned to our motor bikes and some little scroat was fiddling with the engine of one of them, the owner cool as you like walked up to him and said is it broken mate anything I can to to help, he replied no I just want the air filter to the carb you can help yourself to anything else if you want
He tightened up the strap to his crash helmet and hit the little ****er so hard it broke the crash helmet
Even in those days the police seemed more concerned about doing him for assault than arresting the thief for potentially damaging the bike
Still I bet the little bastard never tried that again

Well done that man, he is a true hero in regards to risking his life for others.
Absolutely, I'm still shocked and in disbelief that this has happened on hospital grounds.
Been confirmed by police that an explosive device was taken into the vehicle, although no motive has yet been established. They also named the taxi driver as David Perry, it appears he's something of a hero, I read he locked the attacker in the car, will wait to hear more.
The man is a bloody hero, god knows what happened in that cab for him to lock the fella in there with him but i assume he knew he was about to do something awful, locked the cab and tried to talk him down or drive away from the hospital. either one is amazing.
How fukin brave is that. Im really not sure id have done the same.
It's very brave mate, sort of thing we'd probably all hoped we would do when faced with the situation, but he showed the mental grit to do it when faced with the situation for real. Imagine as he's driving to the hospital, everything is rushing through his mind, while trying to concentrate on the road, he knows he's got to do something, at what point he became aware of that, we don't yet know.
Dunno, but seems more like a fire bomb rather than an explosive, but im just guessing
The police have confirmed that the taxi had been requested to go to the hospital. 'Significant items' have been found at an address, but the motive is still unknown, as is the reason for the sudden explosion of the device. It appears it was an improvised device, possibly made by the person igniting it. They do know the identity of the passenger but will not yet be releasing the detail.

If it was intended to hurt people, then you'd have thought that the driver would've been shredded.
Those sort of devices normally include nails or something similar.

I think it was the police that said it...that they suspect it didn't detonate properly.
Suspicion is around whether it was intended for a remembrance service near-by or it's something that's not been ruled out. So still nowt to suggest it was intended for the hospital.
Have I missed something, but what did the Joe Baxi driver do that was bravery? Genuine question, as he was apparently asked to take the bobble head to the Women’s hospital which he did, then the ****wit in the back triggered his device right outside the main doors. It must have been a **** device and possibly the driver had a screen that protected him from the worst of the blast and he got out. I’m not having a pop like, but I don’t quite get it. Please feel free to put me right.
