I find it best to avoid any discussion of the hunt locally as they’re fiercely protective of it and even those who don’t attend or have any real interest will defend it, as it’s viewed as part of countryside life, and any attack on it is spun into an attack on traditions and an attempt to erode their rights.

The local Hunt master is also on the local town council and his family also own a fair bit of the land and buildings around here, so most of the local businesses have them as their landlord. They're literally embedded into the fabric of the village so no criticism of what they get up to is ever taken seriously.
